    Yes .. BMW/BENZ etc hit on a toyota .. probaby BMW/BENZ is safer .. from the pic, the whole front end of the LFA is gone, and the 3 series, not as bad.

However, I guess the LFA is just a "pre production" car?

But anyway, this is sad ..

You can't compare a supercar's body with something like the 3 series because the body of a supercar is probably made of light materials such as fibre reinforced sheet panels (I call "cardboard"), so it will not win against metal.

The panels and stuff should never amount to any form of collision protection in the first place though. The structures that protect you should always be the crumble zone materials and the chassis itself. Given that sports cars perform much better with a light but rigid chassis (the lighter and more rigid, the better), the LFA should be at least as collision-proof as any production road car.

Then again, there isn't much you can do (other than to count your blessings) when you crash at 200+ km/h, is there?

I think that depends on the design.  The crumple zone of that LFA still looks pretty good IMO.

Like F1 car in an accident, all there's left is the driver compartment, all front end, back end will fly off!

    There's a real true accident over SEA TO SKY HWY about 10 years ago..... A Bimmer and A Honda Predude WAS HEAD ON... the result was.... Bimmer driver still alive and Predude driver was dead right a way!! Correct me if I am wrong.

When you compare you need to compare with similar products.  Comparing a 3 series to a LFA and saying Lexus is inferior to BMW in terms of collision because LFA's driver died and the front end was toast is not a fair comparison.  BMW vs Honda, I'm pretty sure BMW will win most of the time.  You just need to compare with things in the same class to make any sense out of it.  Why don't you compare a 3 series against a Hummer?  Then I can say BMW is crap?  Of course not!
