Unless you've got the whole north america map preloaded to it... There's so many signal dead zones in Canada, especially in mountain terrain, Telus usually works a bit better...

For me, I will only use those apps in urban or sub-urban zone in Canada. In rural area, IMO those GPS on the smartphone/ipad/iTouch are just useless... Try to have 1 real solid GPS if you really plan to travel a lot...
