Sharon Ellis is with Ladner's Westham Island Herb Farm and says it isn't just the spoiled crop affecting their business. "Labour would have been higher, because it's that much harder to pick. You can imagine walking through all the muck, you slow down, and that's a problem as well."
But she says the crop isn't a total loss. "I think there should be enough to make it to Halloween, because we did get some out, so I guess it definitely could have been worse."
Some farmers with crop insurance will be looking for compensation
