Be the first to Comment 1 Recommendation(s) VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - A 47-year-old man is in custody after an apparent abduction earlier this morning at the Cassandra Hotel in East Vancouver.
The VPD says around 9:30 a.m, it responded to reports of a woman screaming and being forced into a vehicle, which left the area near hotel.
VPD's Eric Grummisch says the 27-year-old sex trade worker was later located by police in New Westminster, but it appears she somehow managed to escape from the car. She is currently being treated for stab wounds at the Royal Columbian Hospital.
Shortly after, the suspect was apprehended in Surrey by the RCMP. He has been arrested, but no charges have been laid yet. His name is not being released at this time.
Grummisch says the suspect and victim appear to know each other, but the exact nature of their relationship is still under investigation. |
