BURNABY (NEWS1130) - It's Day 2 of the federal election campaign, and already British Columbians are being courted by the Prime Minister. Stephen Harper spoke before a group of Conservatives in Burnaby this afternoon.
It's the theme that emerged on the first day of the campaign and was revisited for the crowd of about 600 today. Harper continued to stress a coalition government wouldn't be good for the economy. "What would the world think were we to suddenly now head off on some whole new, high tax, economic direction, led by a reckless coalition, without a coherent program or even basic national principles."
He also emphasized the fact that Canada has had six consecutive quarters of continued economic growth, and that the Conservatives have forged new trade ties with the US and the European Union. |
