It is clear why Mr Lik does not have the courage to admit the reality that all native Indians need to learn English/French if they want to receive higher education at university or find good jobs in the society.

Why can't Mr Lik admit the British imperialists is the "invasive species"?
The native Indians cultures are still being destroyed. The poverty, obesity, drugs use situation in the native Indians reserves is deplorable.
The aboriginals culture is being destroyed in the US, Australia, New Zealand etc.

There is nothing wrong with ethnic minorities learning Mandarin in China, or native Indians learning English/French in Canada.

You have to learn the language of commerce and education. In China, it is Mandarin.
Just like in Canada, the native Indians need to learn English/French.

If the native Indians want to study in a Canadian university or work in the government, they need to learn English/French.

If they don't know English/French, they can't even receive higher education at the university.

According to Mr Lik's logic, Canada also disrespects the native Indians, since the natives have to learn English/French, otherwise they will be shutout of university and a lot of high paying jobs.

The arrogant British and French imperialists did nothing to modernize Africa.

China is on the right track to set up mutually beneficial projects.
These Chinese projects in Africa are based on mutual agreement.

Most countries are now realize assimilation and destroying one's culture is the wrong thing to do.  Many are taking steps to restore the local culture.  For example, in New Zealand, there is a a strong effort in restoring the aboriginal culture including making Maori as an official language.  In UK, Walsh is now being prompted and many companies are now offering services in Walsh.  In Canada, aboriginal languages are recognized in NWT.

People should remember that heavy handed assimilation was the tactic that was in the 滿清 dynasty and 漢 people fought for over 100 years against it.  I guess history sometimes do repeat.

You are incorrect.
All these so-called efforts in UK and New Zealand, are just token efforts. Just too little too late.

History is repeating in the US and Canada where the native Indians are forced to assimilate into European culture. The US is famous for their melting pot culture where minorities and the natives culture are destroyed.

In China, everyone should learn Chinese which is the language of commerce and education.
The native Indians in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, all have to learn English.
In China, ethnic minorities can all learn their own languages, in addition to Chinese.
