SURREY (NEWS1130) - A man was rushed to hospital last night after being shot near King George Boulevard and 100th Avenue.  It happened around 9 p.m.

Several callers to News1130 reported hearing the gunshots.  "There was a black vehicle by the HSBC," says Amanda.  "It had one male victim.  He was lying on the ground with one foot hanging inside the car."

"I couldn't see where he was shot, but they were paying more attention to his face and chest.  One cop took one look at him, stood up and backed up [and] just stood there looking at him at that point," she adds.

Police have not released very many details and haven't said what the motive may have been.

The RCMP's Gang Task force is now handling the investigation and there were several police officers at Surrey Memorial Hospital, where the victim was taken.

The victim's name, age or condition hasn't been released.
