How to renew HK ID card in Vancouver.

Help. Anyone knows how to renew the New HK ID card here without go back to HK?

I heard that can go to China consulate to do it, is it true?

Anybody have done that before, please advise.

I think Q25 answers the question very well. You may need to appoint someone to pick up the card for you after.
