呢到中文報紙大多是文字記者用傻瓜機就算。相通常是向自由攝影記者買，自由攝影記者當然用是自己架生

Actually it's a quite interesting matter to discuss. I can say it's about "self esteem" VS "cost of money". For example, to buy coffee and feed the meter for your boss, you have nothing to lose in terms of money (provided that your boss pays you the needed spare changes), but see if your self esteem allows you to do it comfortably. However, using your own camera equipment and shooting skills to work for a free job but actually your boss might get money return in his own pocket (not yours), and your gear might be put at risk on your own too, consider that any unexpected accident and failure may happen. But in return, you may feel proud because your gear and talent is admired by someone. There is no right or wrong, just depends on what type of person you are.

One time thing i'd do it. Knowing that there's going to be wear and tear and other risk to your gear, and those will not ge reimbursed. Make it clear also.

If you/ur boss is thinking that this is going to be regular and recurring going forward, definately make everything strict and clear. Something along the line of equipment rental to the company, but only for your work use at the requested times. And that the company have liability in case of any accidents, etc.

if i were you.. i wont use my gear period.
if u ask for reimbursement, what is the fair value? that just complicates the matter.

i dont know if u offered to use your own gear at the first place or he asked, if u offered.. i think you are inviting trouble for yourself.

睇完咁多高見，總結如下：其實我唔係斤斤計較，反正有糧出，做番自己有興趣的，更爽。只不過入職時無提及要代客拍照，而想問清楚是否自己出架生。
舉個例：老闆叫我送十袋水泥俾客，如果用佢部corolla，可能好吃力，佢見我開pickup番工，就用我部車，fine，我無問題，但我私人其實仲有大truck，又有forklift，對送水泥的效率有幫助，雖然會係overkill；但係今次免費出大truck，下回老闆會以為我自動獻身，有架大車，下次叫我送100包，咁咪好麻煩 ？

No. If you drive your car for work purposes, you definatley should get reimbursement on gas/wear & tear, etc. I always do, along with parking and all the other fees. Same thing for cameras.
