So most of the doctors you consulted, both in the hospitals and clinics, are local Canadian origin?
Any doctor immigrated from Hong Kong to Canada and still practising as a doctor?

unfortunately most of them are local canadian MDs
IMGs are almost nonexistent

just checked the college of physicians and surgeons of BC website
out of the many family docs/specialists who can speak chinese/cantonese, only ONE of them has a non-canadian certification (a paediatrician)
so maybe you can be the second one..

most of them are from other places such as middle east and europe
(i think this maybe due to most chinese doctors...upon immagration to canada...already have enough savings so that they dont need to practise anymore (搵夠)...and they simply dont bother going through all these trouble getting a license....)

Any idea about "how much saving is needed in order to say that"s enough?" in Canada?
(e.g. In Hong Kong, one needs HK$30,000,000 before he/she could retire while maintaining present life quality)

and how much is enoug?....hmmm...i guess i am too young to answer this question...but i guess it depends on how you want to live your retirement life...what kind of living standard do you want

how much?  depend on what is your retired life looks like.  i believe most hongers don't even earn $30 million in their life.

that's the reason why the life/living quality after retirement in most of hongers is sub-standard. They've to cut / lower their living standard since HK Government does not have any support to these groups.
