BEIJING, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- A 5.0-magnitude earthquake hit northwest China's Qinghai Province early Monday morning, said the China Earthquake Administration.
China's earthquake monitoring network detected a 5.0-magnitude earthquake in the Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Qinghai at 1:15 a.m., or 37.7 degrees north latitude and 95.7 degrees east longitude.
The epicenter was about seven kilometers deep, according to the network.
