Hey girls, I finally bought my cuttlebug from Michaels with that 50% off discount! I was about to give up because M's @ Marine Dr and Richmond has no stocks at all and my membership 50% off discount was expiring. I made several calls to different locations and finally bought it in West Van with the LabourDay sale!

I am just wondering where do you girls normally buy the dies and folders? Can I use other brands' folders/dies? Thanks!

By the way, M's mark up price is so high! At walmart, the machine is only $68, and M sells it for $99.99? That's such a rip off without the discount!

Congrats on getting the cuttlebug!

The folder I usually get in local stores like Scrapbook warehouse. It should be around $6-ish but Michaels regular price is 9.99! So it works out better price when there is discount in local stores.
And it works well with Nestabilities die cut.

In Walmart, some folders are $4, and I think it's fair enough.

I've called Michaels just now. They said they seem like they are having some problems with the dealer so that's why they weren't able to recieve or order any machines from them. And they've checked others store for me. The only store that has it is the Langley store. They have one but they can't do any internal transfers. >.<

U know what I just found out that actually Taiwan has it's own cuttlebug machine as well. They have different sizes of machines. They have one large machine which can cut or emboss A4 paper. They also have different kinds of die cuts and embossing folders. As well, in their website, they have a free idea page where you can look at their finished products and get some designing ideas.

Yes, I made lots of calls to M's and it wasn't fun. I am still looking up the dies and the folders but I wonder if that tw porducts can be used for the cuttlebug machine. The folders and dies they have are pretty nice le.

Went to Walmart today.. Still NO LUCK @ all!

But I bought 2 embossing folders for $5/ea. and some scrapbooking papers.

And I've also stopped by London Drugs today and bought some punches and texture/embossing folders. They were on sale! (Only some of them.)
There was this seasonal set of texture plate and tool set selling for $9.99. (Regular Price is $39.99) The set includes 8 texture design plates (4 plates but it's double sided), 1 Dual-Tip Stylus - Regular Tip, 1 Dual-Tip Stylus - Detail Tip, and 1 Texturing Tool.

Even if it doesn't work with the cuttlebug, you still have those hand tools to help you emboss the designs.

I got it from the Lougheed one. The one down in Lougheed Center. They only have 2-3 sets left.
Usually their scrapbooking things are placed near the photo department.

I'm thinking of using the Fiskars hand tools to try rolling on the cuttlebug folders.  I think it may work.
And now since I found out this Taiwan machine, I'm thinking of getting that instead of the cuttlebug.
Cuz it can emboss and diecut A4 size paper.  And they can use the cuttlebug folders as well.

Regarding to ur previous questions about those Taiwan folders, I think you can get their small size machine's folders and use it with cuttlebug.  Cuz their small size folders are small like cuttlebug's.

I saw this HK Yahoo Auction seller is selling it. But I'm not sure whether they do oversea shippings or not. Well, I'm asking them and waiting for their reply. Hope they do ship overseas la.

Maybe we should also ask the Taiwan suppliers whether they ship overseas or not.

Also, since I will be selling my crafts in mid Nov. @ Nikkei Center, I need those things to do my packagings. That's why I'm spending a lot money recently.
By the way, does anyone know where I can get some of those sticky clear plastic packaging / party bags?

I think pretty much most of the folders would work on cuttlebug machine and I believe that the TW one can do the same as the cuttlebug as well.

this online shop will actually let you pick up your purchase in Greater Vancouver!! Most of the Cuttlebug embossing folders are cheaper than Michaels

) but too bad the ones I like are sold out!
