What's the norm for 禮金 these days? Does $5000 - $7000 sound reasonable?

depends on your financial situation la...and some ppl choose to give less cash but will give all the gift $ collected from the banquet to the parents.

禮金呢樣野, 真係睇下你自己負擔得幾好乍woh~
我呢d 窮鬼, 當年都係比左少少禮金(港幣20k多少少), 再加10圍左右既酒席之麻.
你afford 到幾多就比幾多law, 你外父外母又唔係賣女, 如果賣女就會好貴了!
