I have not tried this before. But for United airlines, I can print the boarding pass at home, but if I have some bags to be checked in, I still have to go to the counter at the airport, so that they can put the tags on the bags.

but at least you get to choose ur seat online before going to the airport lor

Yes, it's very convenient. I can fill in all family members' passport numbers and choose or change seats online. This highly reduce the time spent at the counter (even if you have to drop off checked-in baggage there). They usually have a separate line for customers already checked in online so you don't have to line up with everyone else. If you are concerned about your seats, however, do the online check right the earliest that you are allowed to.

All airlines have separate check in counters for electronic & manual............ except Air Canada! I almost missed my flight because of their stupidity. So shocked when I found out that I have to line-up with technology retarders, even thought I've already check-in and got my broading pass! And then, the Air Canada staff at the gate gave me dirty look because I was late. I told him that there was a line-up in check-in, and he said "No, there's not".

There's a reason they are lossing money!

If you are already checked-in online, why do you still have to use those terminals?

To show that you are there; if you do not show up, they can give the seat to those stand-by.

Well, if you don't have any luggages, and only have carry-on, then you can go straight to security.

However, if you have luggages, you still need to drop them off in the terminal. West Jet has separate terminals for electronic and manual check-ins. So all you need to do is to go to the counter, weight the luggages, tell the staffs that you packed your own luggages, and it has never been opened by a 3rd party. They put stickers onto your luggages, then you drop them off. The whole process takes less than 5 minutes.

However, Air Canada do not have separate terminals. So I still have to wait with the manual check-in people. So that's why I think they are retard.

PS: I asked the Air Canada staffs if they have separate terminals for baggage drop-off, and they said no!
