where is it the new ramen place?
作者: somewhereintime    時間: 2010-2-9 11:28

Opening a new restaurant at that location and only expecting
$3,000-$4,000 daily sales? it is not going to last.
Other than coffee house, a restaurant need to generate $8,000-$10,000
everyday to be profitable

collect EI or Welfare. Not everyone is a failure like you.
Why would I want to cook ChoySuey while I can teach

日收3000-4000係downtown...
如果係生意額,
都係搵定經紀放盤好過。

如果淨賺3000-4000,都有得做既。

Downtown一個晚市都7,8千生意額。
全日3000-4000,做唔300個客,不如摺。

The rent and Triple net alone costs  over $1,000 a day
Just assume:
$4,000 x 30 Days = $120,000
Rent + Triple Net:  $25,000
Cost Of Goods Sold:  35% = $42,000
Labour Cost: 32% = $38,400
Utililies:  $5,000
Overhead:  $6,000
LOAN PAYMENT: $450,000(Principle) x 15%(Interest) x 5 Years, Monthly payment: $22,500

That is only part of the major cost, if someone do only $4,000 sales a day, the restaurant
would incur - $17,500 lost every month($210,000 annually) for 5 years, is it a dream or nightmare?

The very minute you sign the lease, you are signing a $1,200,000 loan from
the landlord, and usually the lease is personal guaranteed, so say bye to your house

$4k sale a day, or $10K a day ..

doesn't matter and doesn't show how much profit la....

If $4k/day, but only ~ $3K overhead, then good profit ..

If $10K/day, but $10k overhead per day .. then eat banana la..

Simple math and common sense ..

Well, by the way, we all know lots of restaurant with $10K/day sale wor .. (not Donal or Timmy )  some small group ,meal, over $10K la.. (~ 30 heads with drinks)

By the way, I think we all know MacDonald doesn't make money anymore ..   should use TIM HORTON as example .. most profitable fastfood in Canada.

A  600  sq. ft  Foodcourt space at Waterfront hotel  pays  $12,000 rent per month,
guest how much  daily sales required to achieve break-even point?
That is just food court.
The large space on Robson at Burrard where the Nikko used to be,
the rent is $45,000 per month.

The landlord tried to turn it into a multi-units  mini food court, but the huge kitchen is a problem.
And the landlord is not willing to spend money either, so just let it rotten

If you run a restaurant like Hon-kee or someplace on robson street, I would definitely respect you.  At least you'd face real world challenges in the business environment.
