Sometimes the opening isn't just about how grand it is and how stunning it is.....

When it goes over that stage and actually reflects sth of higher cost, it can also be a very memorable Opening

No, it has to wait for the inside door closed before the outside door open. They have to keep the air pressure for the air-supported roof.

In general, it is quite good. There are many aspects similar to Beijing.
At the very beginning, there was a count down part to the start of the show, just like in Beijing.
There also was the extensive use of image projection technology, projecting images onto the stage and other things coming up from the stage.
Many performances were also pre-recorded and then lip sync, but this is normal in any big show.
There was this part where some performers were wearing tight red outfits, with LED lights on the outside. In Beijing, there were performers wearing tight green outfits, with lights on them.
As for the mechanical malfunction, if it happened in Beijing, what would the western media say tomorrow morning?

4. 悶, 整個表演毫無重點, 無精華, 東一 D, 西一D
5. 亂, 最後要 Gretzky 去　CBC　個部分有點亂，　可能因為係　Plan B

仲有, 無 mascot, 無 Celine Dion, 無 Michale J. Fox, 無正音樂, 有無搞錯

also when they are raising the Olympic flag ..... the wind blower on the pole is not strong enough to even blow up the flag.....how dumb is that!!!!!

actually i quite like it, it is "warm". not big big show and everyone is just watching a show, this one make me feel everyone is part of the show. lip singing is expected, too difficult to control live la. compare to the beijing one, this one is easier to understand.
yup, the last part is really disappointed.

I like the show after all. Except the mechanical problem, it's very artistic.
I love the Poet and the beautiful words about Canada. I like the whale and the cathedral grove (I've been there and it's beautiful) and Albert Ballet did a great job.
I would say the camera/editor didn't do a great job of picking the best scene. But I can imagine that audience can really enjoy the live show there.

It is worth 85. I and my family enjoyed every minute of the opening ceremony. Acutally I am pleasantly surprised that the show could be this good and I think it is a worthy successor to the Bejing Olympics. Considering Canada's size and financial strength, I think we are worth 85 if not better.

This is another thing that they copied from Beijing. The mascots didn't appear in Beijing's opening ceremony. People don't know the reason why.

Totally, I was there last Wednesday for the dress rehearsal.
Comparing to the TV , I would have to say the video editor did a pretty bad job recapturing the live environment.
