My wife usually goes to the Juicy at the outlet and the kitchen supply store at the outlet.  Nothing really outstanding otherwise.

I like the kitchen supply store at the outlet too.
Costco is one of my fav WA shopping location.

How do you pay the credit card bill in $US? If you have money in Canada, you still have to convert to $US for paying.

I think fibbi means a US dollar credit card...

If you use Cad $ credit card, say today exchange rate, ~ 1.01, they may charge you $1.03-1.04 as exchange rate .. however, if you use a US$ credit card, you can buy US$ yourself, and pay the bill.

I actually never been to to the costco in the states.  Is there any difference between them?

Way more variety of products. Of course...the product that I used....only available in US costco but not the Canadian one...
e.g. dental floss...Canadian Costco sells the Oral B one that I don't really like....US Costco sell the Crest "Glide" which I found really good!
US Costco has Carnation Evaporated Milk (a.k.a. 三花淡奶) but not in Canadian Costco.

Yeah..you are right...and I want one US$ AMEX card for costco la...

But fibbi how are you going to pay the bill like some one said?  You need to pay in USD, so you still need to convert CAD to USD and you lose money on the conversion anyway, right?

SB ..  the "lost" is smaller ar ma ..

Just like from ebay, you can pay in US or pay in Cad, and ebay do the conversion for you ...

Anyway, small different, when we go US, we just use plastic anyway ...  unless buying big items from BH etc ... then I use my US credit card .. ^_^

For the US credit card I got with TD Bank, I just paid with US fund in my US account.
Whenever the rate is good (like now) then I will convert some Cdn $ to US$ la... then can use it whenever I like la.

Is Alderwood newer than Bellevue?

no one shops at The Outlet Shoppes At Burlington?

If you buy coach stuff, it is usually 0.5% cheaper than the Seattle Outlet because of less tax.

Isn't Burlington also within WA so same amount of tax?

Yes but strangely they did charge a little less tax than the Seattle Outlet.  Less people went there too so no need to fight for the bags too.

Just came back from the States yesterday. Costco @ exit 206 takes couple Canadian Debit cards, TD, Scotia, Royal Bank. And they have self checkouts, way less lineup there.

    How's the exchange rate?

washington state doesn't have the same tax rate for the whole state. I think it depends on which area/county and the state tax is different. Near Seattle is more than the exit 206 area.

There's a States tax and a City surcharge tax.  States tax is pretty low but many cities add on their own taxes.

This trip, I just found another good shopping mall in Seattle: University Village.  Has anyone been there?

I had visited University Village couple years ago ... not really special , better checked with the store hours as shops may not opened at weekend.

A big apple store, plus small shops - like granville island
