If you are trying to find a good thai food restaurant this one might be a good one to try!~
Rose Thai
1425 Marine Dr., West Vancouver (near corner of 14th St. and Marine Dr.)
Tel: 604-925-0070
Tonight, I went out to eat again... Well can't really blame me, cuz my mom and I both don't want to cook so we went somewhere near my house in West Vancouver.
Rose Thai is a Thai food Restaurant. All I can say is this is one of the few places that I think makes the best Thai food in Vancouver. The prices are reasonable and the size is quite descent too! Basically, after I ate, I was REALLY full and just want to sleep and feel fulfilled~~!
The owner of the restaurant is very kind and friendly. We have a chat with her, and she told us about how come their food is so good. "Thai people usually are very concerned about conserving food, so a lot of the Thai restaurants tend to conserve their portion of food also, which makes the food not as tasty as it should be!" said Rosemary, the owner of Rose Thai, "we really put the ingredients in full portion into our dishes, which makes the taste so flavorful and fragrant!". This sounds very resonable, because a lot of times I went to a Thai restaurant, the price of the food is either just not reasonable to the quality of the food or the size of the food is ridiculously small.
After the chat, we decided to go there again soon, cuz it is just so good!
APPEAL: GOOD~~~
FOOD: PERFECTO~~
INTER: Welcoming~
SERVI: Can be better, but friendly~
OVA: GREAT!
Menu of the night:
for 2 ppl
Por Pia Tod 4 pcs. [Thai Spring Rolls] ($7.75)
The spring rolls were very good. Outside is very crispy, and inside is very juicy and flavorful. It comes with a sweet sauce for dipping. Different from other spring rolls in Vietness restaurants, the springs are very light and not oily, which is very easy to eat the whole 4 spring rolls!
Kaeng Kiew Waan Ga [Chicken Green Curry] ($10.50)
This is one of the best green curry I have ever tasted. Full of coconut flavor and the texture of the silky coconut milk, spicy enough to enjoy the flavors without trying to cool of the heat, and filled with the different fragrant spices in the curry. Definitely A MUST ORDER!
Fresh Pineapple Fried Rice with Beef ($11.75)
This is one of the more classical dishes in Thai cuisine. The fried rice was really good; filled with different ingredients like onion, bell pepper, peanut, raisins, and pineapples! Served on an open fresh pineapple bowl, it was really good.
Just wondering how does it compare to Sala Thai in downtown and Montri's in Vancouver...
I have been to Montri.. and it's one of the best that I went to.. run by Thai people and awesome hot and sour soup...
but never been to Sala Thai...
Would like to take my gf to one of the Thai restaurants this Valentine... Any suggestion between the three restaurants??作者: yungfourfour 時間: 2008-1-29 00:22
I love thai food but I find sala thai a bit.... disappointing
I'd love to give this one a try..... green curry chicken is my Favourite!
with nicely cooked coconut rice.... oh heavenly!
One question tho
Have you tried their dessert? Did you look at the dessert menu?
There's a thai dessert like this......(taro/mango/coconut) icecream with fresh thai mango on the beside it and hot purple rice at the bottom. That dessert is like heavenly but I can't find that dessert in Vancouver Thai restaurant ( they always do white coconut rice with icecream, or mango with white coconut rice.... which is not quite what I exactly want)
