I've joined the group Nanjing Massacre was forgetten by Japanese people last week and finally watched the movie "Naking".

My heart is .....pain? speechless? I highly respect those foreigner who saved 250,000 Chinese in the safety zone they set up during that period.
Without them, I am sure there would be alot more Chinese got murdered or raped. I felt heart broken when I reached the end of the movie... that one of the hero turned the clip/photos he took during the war of Naking to Hitler. He was arrested by Gestapo and forbade him from revealing the truth of Nanjing Massacre to the world. Then, when Soviet occupied Berlin, they also arrested him and judge him in court. Not until many years, the Civilians in Naking heard that his life was very bad in German. All the lives that he saved gathered all the money and the mayor of Naking flied to German, used the money to spare his life in prison..... The lady who saved thousand of women during Nanjing Massacre and tried her best to provided food and shelther to women, got mental problem after the war was done. She flied back to her home in US and one year later, she commited suicide.

I am not sure how many of you heard of Nanjing Massacre or know the detail of Nanjing Massacre. I always ashamed that I do not know enough Chinese history myself; especially Nanjing Massacre. I know the rough idea but the detail.... I never have a clear picture. All the information I received in the past, only focus on how Chinese was badly treated during the war and all these photos...that was on internet.

Now I do really salute to the German reporter who bravely took all these photos and flim for us Chinese during the way, as a proof of the war crime. I was extremely mad when I watched the part that in the middle of the war, Japanese General and goverment realize how insane their soilders acted in the war zone. They did not stop the soilders and cannot stop the soilder. What they did was throwing candy to the kids and say hello to the patients who have bad injuries. THEN, they took down those photos. I am not sure how many of you have seen those photo that Japanese soilders was smiling and chatting with Chinese in Nanjing. I seen those photos before and I thought they were Photoshopped. Now, after watching the flim, I just want to puch their faces so bad by doing so. Should I call them smart or should I say we are not evil enough?

I personally, do not hate Japanese. I only hate the ones who done these crimes. I only hate the Japan goverment who denied these bloody fact and yet, they still worship those "class A" war crime in Japan. I hate how the japan goverment try to twist the fact to their young generation to a point that most japanese think the report of Nanjing Massacre is fake.

I highly salute and appreciate those foreigners who saved thousand of lives in Nanjing Massacre and to the one who make this flim. So the world know what had happened during this war.

I only hope the young generatino in China stop screaming about how they will stop buying Japan Goods or how they hate Japanese.
Do not hate Japanese as there is nothing wrong with their young generatino too but do sit down and think is there anything better to do rather sitting in front of the computer and scream about their anger. What can they do to be superior than Japanese? How about making better products since everything you grab is product of China. How can't people say "wow, it's product of China" like majority of people like Japan product?
Just think. Why can't people said People from China are very well behaved and polite? Just think.

p.s. Sorry for the long passage but it just totally knock me down after I patiently watched the whole flim..........

Chinese products and Japanese war crimes are two separate issues. The Japs need to admit their crime and apologize, simple as that. They should learn from the Germans and stop giving excuses. The Japanese need to educate their students about their war crimes. It's not only the Chinese that are complaining, other Asians like the Koreans are also demanding an apology from the Japanese.

Yes, China is not the only country that demand for apology but China is only country that represent the anger and demand in a wrong way. Correct me if I am wrong, as I'm open for new idea and opinion.

As far as I can remember, I do not recall Korean or other Asian throw stones at Japanese car in their country and use violence to stop others to use Japanese good. For instance, people just block people who drive Honda on the road just because Honda is a product of Japan. Is it a good way to demonstrate a country image? Is it a good way to tell the world that us, Chinese deserve a proper apology from Japan?

If you would like respect from others, the first thing you should do is behave as you would respect others.

How can a foreigner judge if the bloody history is real? These bloody history is not a common topic in school, not even in North America because it's too violence to bring up.
To be honest, many westerner even doubt the history has ever exist. If these Westerner don't even have a chance to understand these bloody history, and we continuous to demonstrated such bad images. How do we receive support from others to force Japan to admit these facts? Don't forget, other than the films and photos took by the German hero, Japanese also took photos that they were very "friendly" to the people in Naking.

Jap gov should admit and apologize,
and Chinese people should get over it.

imo, what happened is heartbreaking, is 無奈 but war is war, 成王敗寇, I think the most important is to learn from the history and don't let it happen again.

Its hard to say if other countries did the same, you have to keep in mind the type and origin of the media you come in contact with. You are chinese, you watch chinese news, therefore it will report issues that are happening in the country with first priority over news in other countries. As far as i can remember I havne't seen the news here report about stone throwing at the japanese embasy in china.

I agree there are better ways to express your anger and resentment towards the acts of the Japanese soldiers in the past, but on the other hand... The people in china aren't well educated, everyday life stress and oppression could lead to this flash of violent acts. It could also be seen as sign of nationalism. WWII is still only 50 years back though it seems like a long time for us who are living in the West, it could be just like yesterday for victims of the vicious crime. The victims not only include the immediate victims of the masacre, but also the decendants of the victims. It is impossible to understand the amount of pain and anger these people suffer from.

yes of course the Japs had done very terrible things to China

but.... when we look at the history of China

the number that we chinese killed each other..
is way more than the Nanjing incident

were the Japs bad people in the war? YES
are Chinese any better? NO

Lets just say there is no innocence in war and there is no mercy in war for the losers of the war. Modern civilization has been built upon countless bloodshed. Can you name a country that has not shed blood due to internal conflicts and civil wars? Just because you dont' hear of it doesn't mean that it hasn't happened.

Puzzle what you are talking about is thousands of years of history in the making. I don't think its fair to compare the two issues. Civil wars and clan wars count for the millions that have died in over a couple decades, the Nanjing incident is hundreds of thousands dying in a matter of months. Though numerically the numbers may seem farfetched, but the timescale of these killings are on a totally different scale.

actually in the history of China there were many cruel wars/battles/slaughters which were high in deaths
eg. 秦趙長平之戰 lasted for about 3 years (if i am wrong please correct me) and at the end of this fight 400000 趙soliders were slaughtered (坑殺) 尋秦記即以此為背景

牧野之戰 (less than 2 months) 周武王 killed 180000商人

the Chinese saying 血流成河 really isn't exaggerating

Haha my bad, i meant the killing and pillaging of the villagers.. although we can't be sure which side of the story is really true, only the people of that time would know..

All i can say is I am grateful that we do not have to go through that in our lives, so let us all pay respect to all those who gave their lives for what they believed was a just cause; As well as the people who were not directly involved in the war.
