big chain. I went there during dine out period :p I dunno whyyyy
It's not much different than its other chain restaurant on Kingsway in Burnaby.
I really enjoyed their satay (skewer) the peanut sauce really not bad... and the chicken was very tendor when I had it.

The food in Charming Thai is 10x better than Thai House. I left a comment card with exact same wording... lol

The ambience is good, food is big portion and tasty!!

It is not difficult to find a restaurant that is worse than Tropxxx if you are the chef of that restaurant.

Didn’t your students tell you that? Maybe you can ask for their comments directly next time when you have a Thai foods class again.

Well, I don't know/care about stepping on other thing...
BUT Tropxxx SUCKS. And it's just a Foodie's opinion. I don't make $ out of food. I spend $.

Silly personal attack again after losing another debate.
I dine out often and there is only a handful of restaurants
I would not recommend since most restaurants has their
signature dishes. I am not in restaurant business so there is
no conflict of interest. I'm more concern about the sanitation
level when I visit restaurant. That is part of my business. Also, I received complaints from consumers who patronized
there.

Just tried Thai House @ Metrotown Station Square, hey not bad!

Panang Curry Beef lunch special $7.50, comes with springroll, salad, hot & sour soup and rice.

I ordered extra spicy, and it was really... extra spicy.

I turned down offers for being Hired Belly from local English magazines,
since I know most of the chefs in town and I try to be neutral. I retired as exec chef 25years ago, but I have been on the judge panel for
international Culinary Competitions so I know how to judge foods.
I want to enjoy my meal, instead of working while I dine.
It is not easy being a food critic, you order food not because you feel like eating,
but to find out how the food is prepared. Quite often you order a variety of foods
that is much more than you can finish. Just a bite from each plate, what a waste.
And I don't like drinking out of my house.

Too Chinese? Do you mean the food? I actually only tried their Tom Yan Soup and Green Curry on Saturday. My wife actually like their soup. It's much better than another thai restaurant downtown.

yes, their style of cooking thai food is just too... Chinese. Not very authentic.

Yes, the Tom Yam was ok, but the curry, nah...

My wife was actually thinking to go to Thai house that day but we ended up trying the Green Basil instead. I do find their curry so-so. Have you tried the one downtown on Robson near damen?

I was browsing for Thai restaurant reviews (cos of this interesting Thai food discussion) and I found this Thai restaurant on Denman which looks interesting. The reviewer, who is Thai herself, thinks this is the most authentic Thai restaurant in Vancouver. btw she didn't try any curry dishes.

Yes Tang Thai. My wife does not like the Tom Yan soup there. We only ordered Pad Thai and Tom Yan soup noodle so we cannot put judgement yet but the pad thai was not as good as other place.
