There are cheap and efficient ways to do it

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - The Harmonized Sales Tax is going to a referendum and now the experts are weighing in on how the question should be asked. If the question is complicated, you can bet the Liberals will take flak for it.
Much like they did in their 2002 referendum on First Nations treaty rights or like the Parti Quebecois did during its 1995 sovereignty vote.
SFU Public Policy analyst Doug McArthur also recommends a mail-in initiative over an in-person ballot. "Generally, it makes it easier for people to vote. It encourages participation and you always worry about low levels of turn-out. It's cheaper and it's becoming a much more common way of doing votes."
He adds the question would be more efficient and would get the best response if it was just a simple yes or no.
They probably have to do it anyway. It's too embarrassing and costly for them to remove it. They only way for them to survive, if there is a chance, for the next election is to lower the HST.
or else what happened to the NDP will happen to them.
It's good to give them pressure, but if you tell me to spend 30 million for making a point ... I'm not so sure.作者: somewhereintime 時間: 2010-9-14 16:43

I think the NDP is going to win the By-Election,
and, we are going to get hit by 15% HST if not higher,
most of the enterpreneurs going to move to Calgary, just like 1990,
the average real estate crumble, except for the mansions $8 Millions and up,
unions established in all small businesses,
so BC become the heaven of the Homeless and super-rich Mainlanders.I hope you would point fingers at me New Year Eve 2011 and prove
that I'm all wrong作者: lo_pak 時間: 2010-9-14 18:10
Do I have another choice instead of NDP? If the Liberal is lowering the HST, I would rather giving them another chance... Those years under NDP is a nightmare...作者: somewhereintime 時間: 2010-9-14 18:13
Don't forget to thank the superhero Bill Vander Zalm,
his most corrupted Socred government that gave the
NDP a landslide victory, and 10 years of doomed days

NO. If the liberal lose, NDP is a sure win. Remember the union workers, nurses, teachers, etc.? 作者: ATGB 時間: 2010-9-14 22:36
I'd rather pay another 7% on my restaurant meal than to have my income tax risen by 10% later. Just say no to NDP.作者: somewhereintime 時間: 2010-9-15 00:30
Vander Zalm is not the solution, he is the advenger.
I would trust Carol James over him, but I don't think she can control
the NDP hardliners once they were in power作者: news 時間: 2010-9-15 09:29
