好唔慣呢個新網頁，我之前ｄ野無晒。

想問下各位媽咪兩樣野：
１）Good Start, Enfamil, Similac, 你地用開邊隻奶粉？我覺得Good Start好似無咁多bubbles咁。
２）烚完ｄ奶樽係一直比滾水浸住丫，定倒晒ｄ滾水？烚左代用既奶樽可以放幾耐架？

仲有，你地幾耐同BB沖一次涼架？呢度ｄ護士教幾日先沖一次，而中間既日子就每日抹身，因為BB唔會太污糟，如果日日沖涼既話佢ｄ皮膚會好乾燥的，咁你地係唔係都幾日先同BB沖一次涼架？

華美子,我都習慣緊呢個新介面。(我係sdingding)
To answer your question:
1) I use Enfamil A+ and I think it's pretty good. Many of my friends' babies are using A+ as well. Have tried Good Start only once and after that, I was breastfeeding exclusively. Some people said after using Good Start, their babies' poo color is a bit greenish, not sure if it's related.
2) I just pour out all the water after sterilize the bottle. I think once it's sterilized, you can keep it for a long time. At least for me, at that time, my baby rarely used bottle and after I sterilized it, I just put it aside after it's dry....my baby is still doing good

. I didn't use any detergent to clean the bottle. Breastmilk is a bit oily than formula but I just use HOT water to clean it.

As for bath, I only bath my baby every 3 days for the first 2 months, but after that, I bath daily as she swear a lot especially during feeding. I put Vaseline on whole body after each bath. I also heard that for newborn, we don't need to bath them daily and yes, it will make their skin dry.

想問下如果話食Good Start D poo poo 會綠D即係有咩野問題？

我個ｂ一係就幾餐都唔柯，一柯就好似山泥傾滯咁好多，有時多到濕埋條褲仔。問醫生點解我個女鐘意做 wholesale 唔鐘意做 retail，醫生話仲好啦佢條腸好似大人咁可以hold耐ｄ，但係變左每次開片時都驚唔知開大定開細，最怕係換緊個時突然爆大獲，咁就好麻煩。

唔知你地又用開邊隻尿片？我用Pampers，不過最近有人送包 Huggies比我，因此我依家又試緊 Huggies。其實仲有其他牌子既尿片 (如 Superstore 出的，Costco出的等等）價錢平好多，不過唔知好唔好用。

另外唔知你地有無比BB Pacifier? 我就未買比佢，因為睇書話第日要佢戒就會好困難，唔知你點睇呢？

華美子, did you know you can sign up at those 奶粉 websites to get free samples?  They usually ship you a small can to try.  There are many baby products manufacturers websites for getting free samples, 奶粉, diapers, etc.  They also give you coupons as well.

奶粉, they're all very similar.  I choose by looking at the ingredients and the "smell".  Why smell?  Because I cannot stand the smell of Enfamil, not when it's prepared (well, that stinks too), but when it comes out from the baby's "other side"!  IT JUST STINKS!!!  Made me want to throw up!  Similac has Omega 3 added and it's not stinky so I prefer that.  If you get bottled Similac, they actually smells really good....if you care...lol

Of course drain the the water after you hard boil your bottles la!  Soaking things in water is not that "clean".  Bacteria tend to grow faster in moisture???  I guess...  BTW, have you thought about using bottle liners?  It will save you lots of time.  I don't feel there's a need to use detergent to wash the bottles, boil in hot water often is good enough.  I don't see how they can be that greasy???

It should be fine to bathe the baby every other day now in the winter (summer is difference story) and make sure you wipe his/her clean every time when you change.  Having said that, usually baby heads are oily and get smelly fairly quick, so I prefer bathe everyday but apply lots of lotion afterwards especially near joints where the skin folds.

Are you still breastfeeding?  Breastfed baby (exclusively) can have no poo for more than a week and once they have it, it's HUGE!! When they grow up, their poo poo will be less.  I still remember I washed my baby's underwear each time she pooed as it's everywhere!!!

Experiences count....later on, you know when your baby goes poo.  Some babies have poo during feeding and some before or after.  For the first month, for sure they poo daily and unpredictable.  After that, you will know.

I use pampers too.  I tried Huggies (gifts) but it didn't work too well on my baby.  Poo poo leaked out... no good..but some people think Huggies is better.  Since diaper touches the important part directly and for me, I just think it's better to use some brand name.  I meant at least more confidence!  Just my 2 cents.

All books have different theory.  Some people said it's better to have them sucking pacifier because it will be easier to take away than their own thumb.  My friend's son still use pacifier till 3 or 4, and his brother sucks finger till 7 or 8 (age, not months wor).  So, it really depends on babies. I did give pacifier to my baby at the first place (starting 2 month I think), but she didn't like it after 2 days.  Whenever we put it in, she just pushed it back!!! So, now, no pacifier and no finger sucking. But at some points, it's very normal for babies to suck their fingers as they explore one more new things: their own fingers. My baby has sucked her own fingers when she fell asleep on her back when she was 2 months.  At that time, I just left it this way because at least I could sleep better.  As time goes by, she is 11 months now, and no finger sucking while falling asleep.

Do you guys try the Electronic Steam Sterilizer? Is that good?

Electric sterilizer? I think the benefit of that is you don't need to worry about anything, just plug in and go to work, unlike boiling hot water on a stove.

I still recommend bottle liners though. Easy cleanup and baby sucks in less air. If you want to be enviro friendly then use bottles. Well, it's hard to be very enviro friendly with a baby because of all the diapers.

Pampers and Huggies are the best ones you can get. Costco or whatever diapers are cheaper but they don't give the best fit and comfort. Baby skin is very sensitive! You can certainly try them all before you decide on which one to go; each baby is different and it may turn out to be OK with the no name brands. You can get samples from Pampers and Huggies on their website I think.

I am wondering about the Electronic Steam Sterilizer as well. I am thinking of getting one for my sister. She is currently breast feeding now but I think sometimes she still need to use formula as subsitution. She uses the microwave to sterilze the bottles.. I think.. and personally, I am not too fond of anything involving microwave for baby.

So is Electronic Steam Sterilizer good?

好開心話比大家知，我個BB仲未夠兩個月，終於戒左夜奶。依家我地晚上十二點餵完之後，佢每日都大約七點幾八點先醒。我地最後一餐通常都全formula餵佢，同埋臨瞓前同佢沖涼／抹身，咁樣佢就真係好舒服咁瞓到天光。

我係用煲煲奶樽既，因為我每次都要Sterilize好多奶樽同埋我個奶pump。

BB最近開始吮手襪。我其實時時幫佢修甲，但係一唔比佢帶手襪佢就畫損塊面。最近開始吮手襪，咁係唔係其實比pacifier佢會好ｄ？

我聽護士講用Dove既Baby liquid soap幫佢沖涼洗頭，最近開始佢有頭皮，係唔係我用錯野定或係佢正常既變化？

I am a guy with a 6 months old.

We use Similac® Organic Infant Formula (Green Can)  It has been great, but I don't know if it is available in Vancouver or not?  (I live in Seattle).

If your are worrying about (Air-bubbles)  I recommend you try Dr. Brown Bottles, which works very well.  Basically, it has a tube that let air out instead of having air build up.

There is a technique for mix formula.  Water first, then the powder.  Do not shake, instead there is a spinning motion that you do with the bottle between your hands.  (Don't know how to explain this..)

As far as Electronic Steam Sterilizer, We like it a lot.

For the Poo Poo.., check online, as there are lots of info about how it should look like during the first week, etc..!  For the month or 2.  It's good to use a chart to track down the date/time of each feeding, and the amount of feeding, plus the # for wet diapers, etc..!

For us, we just have to keep an eye on his nails..! But he seems ok has the nails aren't as sharp as before..!

This is the shampoo we use.., again it's an organic shampoo..

Do you know if it's dandruff or "changing skin"? Did this happen just after you changed the soap? Try change it back to see if the condition goes away. However, it's perfectly fine for the baby to go through the a "skin change".

There a risk with pacifiers and that is it might not be easy to get rid of this habbit later. You as the parent need to judge for yourself. Some kids still needs to suck something when they're grade 1. Also, who knows the side effects on the lip shape and teeth growth for long term pacifier usage.

Especially for Baby

I can't say if it is the best one, but it's easy to use, and it fit all our bottles and other accessories when we sterilizer daily.

I bought Avent electronic steam sterilizer...i really like it and it's really convenient.....

And for the diapers, i am using Pampers, i think it's a better brand for my baby. I am using Similac concentrate milk for now...probably will change it to the powder later on. In the beginning, we use the Avent bottle, but we found out that there's a lot of air bubbles...so we change it to Pigeon (bought it from HK), a thinner bottle... and that is great.

If you want to get a manual breast pump, Avent is a better brand (as told by the nurse in the hospital)...but you are looking for an electronic one, get Medela (don't know if i spell it wrong)

我最初買Avent 的Manual breast pump，唔係唔好，不過pump到很累，很想放棄。
最後有朋友送左個Medela既 mini electric pump比我，之前我租左個Medela 既harmony型號pump，對於兩款 Medela既 electric pump，我都覺得好好用。

早兩個禮拜買左 Playtex 既奶袋黎試。

真係愛上左奶袋，BB食奶食少左好多風，掃風同食奶慳左好多功夫。

個Slow Flow 奶咀真係太慢，今日買左Variable Flow 試下。

Glad that you actually tried bottle liners! They're great! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Btw, don't buy other brands of liners such as superstore or wal-mart or whatever, Playtex is the best!

今日試左兩餐 Variable Flow 的奶咀，非常鐘意，平日要差不多一個鐘先餵完，仲要食到成口成條口水臂都係奶又嘔又盛，依家半小時就餵完，仲乾乾淨淨，每次burp都係細細聲。

都唔會consider其他brand了，我有個朋友比左一大堆Playtex既奶樽同兩盒Drop-In我，我又買左一盒Drop-In袋，四個幾五蚊有五十個，雖然小數怕長計，但係慳番唔少時間同精力。
