琉球主權... Forget it, it's impractical...
According to the old experience on "colonies", if the natives have been ruled for 3 generations (ie. +/- 60-75 years), most people would rather stay the way it is.
You can tell by HK before 97 and Taiwan nowadays...
1st gen - they fight
2nd gen - they have been treated unfairly, but still better than their fathers
3rd gen - they get educated and some other benefits, and the 1st gen dead...

Actually, 琉球群島 was a tributary state of the Ming or Ching dynasty, so 琉球群島 should be reunited with China. Some even say Okinawa and 琉球群島 are the same type of people and culture.
