The photo above has been extensively passed around today, and for good reason: it's a peak into the rarely-seen world of mechanically separated meat, or Advanced Meat Recovery (AMR).

There's more: because it's crawling with bacteria, it will be washed with ammonia, soaked in it, actually. Then, because it tastes gross, it will be reflavored artificially. Then, because it is weirdly pink, it will be dyed with artificial color.

But, hey, at least it tastes good, right?

High five, America!

American Fast Foods?
I can live without them.

If you watch "how it's made" on Discovery channel, one time it talks about sugar.
Sugar becomes white after bleaching with some kind of chlorine, then add another chemical to neutralize the chlorine....
From then on I am going to have brown or raw sugar...

excuse me, why do civilized, educated, relatively wealthy and previleged individuals continue to eat fast food? unless you're starving and that's the only "food" you can afford, then i guess your choice of eating that is better than eating rats.....

And my Mom was just talking about last night saying that I shouldn't eat fishball that often...

Factory manufactured meatballs and fishballs are not very healthy,
try to eat fresh wholesome food instead.
作者: KittyLeung74    時間: 2010-10-12 21:59

In fact, most of the processed food are relatively unhealthy and expensive.  I prefer to shop the raw fresh food and cook at home.
Meatballs, fishballs are expensive.  Try to make meatballs from minced meat!

Its always good to watch more discovery channel, and then evaluate on your own, what is good and what is bad for yourself

其實,人生如飲食,毋須花巧,食出真味,最有益健康!
Nowadays, time is the major concern.  不過,多想想,有點預備就OK!
新鮮水果好過canned fruit!  It doesn't take time!
Baked salmon steak takes you 20 min only!
食得健康,活得健康!
簡單就是美!

知道啲食物點製造,你仍然可以選擇食與唔食。唔知,就永遠覺得白糖係好。我今日都會食mcNugguts,但係我都會少食啲。

I cook simple at home with fresh ingredients, period.
It is relatively inexpensive.
I start with cooking rice,
then 2 entrees and 1 soup done before the rice  is ready.
Dishes washed in 10 minutes, then time for 30 minutes walk.
Return home for dessert---fresh fruits or gelato.
Meat broth would be time consuming, but it takes only  minutes to prepare.
It is fortunate to live in Vancouver.
