今年 6月在加拿大秘密結婚的林嘉欣，上周五（ 15日）於溫哥華為丈夫袁劍偉產下 6磅半 B女 Kayla。原來，嘉欣一直希望自然分娩，親嘗生 BB的感覺，可惜臨盆前 BB臍帶纏頸，她惟有即刻開刀。嘉欣昨日接受本報電話訪問時說：「雖然有少少失望，唔可以體會到順產嘅感覺，不過最緊要係 BB嘅安全。」

When I read the article in MingPao magazine, she mentioned that she wanted to have natural birth but found out her bb does not turn when she's about to give birth. So in the end she has to have a c-section.

Seriously...how can one NOT know the bb does not turn during regular check up time?? And it's Vancouver... >_<

Baby doesn't necessary turn until the last day. Sometimes even the OB will try to help the baby to turn as well.

C-section decisions are made ON-THE-FLY.

So I think it's normal.

I just think it's a bit risky to even try to make bb turn ... why not just try c-section the beginning...

There are many reasons why the DRs prefer natural over C-section. I'm not a DR so I don't want to sound like one. For sure the AFTERMATH from a C-section is way worse than natural birth.

I think in this case, she was classified as a good candidate for natural birth but it didn't work out at the end.

It happens all the time.

Anyway, glad that both she and the bb are good. The process doesn't matter now I guess. But yeah..I'm always bias towards c-section from my mom's experience.
