I don't like to eat HK style cafe food... So lots of those "平又好味" food in Richmond is out of our list.

Bby has a lot of choices. vs Richmond is mostly HK style cafe and Shanghainese food. Yes, I like my Taiwanese food and some Pho in Richmond but that's about it. (we don't go to wanton noodle house as well)

Near Metro, there is Lao Shan Dong, The One, 508 Bistro, Alvin Garden, Nao sushi (ex Sushi House... totally diff from current yucky one in Richmond), Pho Hon, Anatolia's Gate (Turkish food) and Hi Genki (Japanese Homestyle food).

There are some that I want to try but have yet tried them:
Potter Garden Korean, Makoto sushi, Green Basil and there is a Thai restaurant in the Edmonds area that I want to try as well but I forgot the name.

布小熊, that Thai restaurant on Edmonds is good and we like it more than Green Basil.

The Sushi place at the old Johnson house location is cheap and good. We like it more than SushiGarden. There is another sushi place at the mall where London Drag is. Happy House (Korean) is good, especial their spicy deep fry chicken (well, not Korean disk but it is really good if you like spicy). There is another Korean beside the gas station and their bbq use real charcoal and is excellent.

Saffron is good if you like Indian food. Butter chicken!!!
They have lunch buffet for ~$10.

Saffron lunch buffer is $12.95 if I could remember. My caucasian coworker's favorite but I'm just okay.

The sushi place next to Saffron used to be pretty good too.

There is a BBQ place just open in Crystal Mall, northern style BBQ. I love it. 1.25 each shrewer.

係啊﹐白玉蘭嘛。。。我去台灣試過鼎泰豐﹐我覺得白玉蘭拍得住。。。希望他們繼續做下去喇﹐事關其他店就算怎樣好都似乎還未及得上﹐加上只是 FOOD COURT﹐價錢 OK﹐唔使 TIPS。

I think almost all stores are operated by mainlanders. You don't have have much choice in Crystal mall.

But you should try bbq place, it is not bad at all. Just don't eat them everyday.

我試過o個間雲南米線，個後生o既女仔真係估唔到係溝通不能
同佢落單用廣東話勉強都ok，點知我話拎走又唔明，to go都唔明，搞咗一大輪佢先終於先知..........

白玉蘭個男人就OK呀雖然佢都只係講國語，但我同佢講廣東話或英文都ok

I tho Curry King is just a regular HK Style cafe. I never been there tho... But I don't think they specialized in curry.

布小熊, I believe they are talking about the 咖喱皇 at Crystal Mall food court and not the HK style cafe.

BTW, 布小熊, we just tried the Cuba restaurant on Imperial behind Metrotown. Taste pretty good but a bit pricy as a family restaurant.

That curry place has been in Yaohan for years! It's good!
I only eat at 3 places in yaohan food court: curry, thai and korean.

Then you went to the wrong place for 咖喱. Their curry isn't that famous. Like 布小熊 said, I rated it as a normal HK style cafe and still there are better choices around.

Few years ago, we went to 咖喱皇 and my wife ordered the curry chicken disk. The chicken meet was pink and still had blood. When we asked the server to fully cook the dish, the server insist that the chef purposely cooked it that way so that the chicken is soft and that's acceptable. What a BS.

That's why you have to do "Homework" before going to restaurants in bby and east van.
Acutually the same for picking restaurant anywhere. I went to a random "upstair cafe" in HK with my friends. It was HORRIBLE!!!
There are some hidden gems in bby and east van.

The juice stop has 雞但仔. They brought the 雞但仔 machine when the previous 雞但仔store closed at that food court.

I second the juice part... last time I bought a large orange juice and witnessed the lady put 3.5 medium size oranges into it, no suger, no ice added, real real juice

原來Moi 佬都鐘意食洪家園。我例牌order 牛肉飯+隻煎蛋。
Kingsway Curry King 老闆以前都係0係麗晶 Curry King 度做, 咖哩質數應該差唔多。
麗晶 Curry King D 魚蛋唔錯, 好似我細個0係HK 食0個D。

you have big appitete.  I am usually stuff after the beef needle.

If you like beef noodle, "Sunny house" the tawianese store on the crystal mall street level is the best.  It is my fav place for Tawianese beef noodles in the lower mainland.

Also, they have Tawianese Mag.  Tawain version's NEXT meg is more raw than the HK's. Love them.

yeah it depends.
We usuaully order that too: 一人一碗台牛麵+小籠包+果汁喎
and I usually eat 2 小籠包 and half of my beef noodle, few sip on the juice.
Then my bf will help me to finish the rest up! ^_^

It is the same Korean place which I mentioned in #14 (the one next to the gas station). I don't remember the name either. People there barely speak any English, which I hated.

我平均每日都在麗晶廣塲或附近食一餐飯。 99%食肆都試過﹐有幾間是心水推薦。
*牛肉福--牛肉面 (food court)
*開張才一個星期嘅抄手王-- 抄手煮得幾好味﹐我呢一個禮拜食左三次(food court)
*寶華換左老闆---D熟送炒得吾錯﹐其中有味黑椒豬扒我最中意。(food court)
*龍華D叉燒非常好味﹐中午可以買叉燒飯或粉﹐我個人喜歡配飯﹐因為叉燒落湯會無晒味。(food court)
*白玉蘭的小籠包都OK嘅﹐可以耐吾耐食一次半次﹐但是就吾可以當飯食﹐因為一份吾夠飽﹐兩份又太多 (food court)
*洪家園D鐵板燒其實吾錯﹐只是以 food court 角度看就似乎貴了些少﹐但是如果你以求質不求量的鐵板燒角度看﹐洪家園其實不算貴。看看 metro town 裡面 Kobe (﹖) 個D炒o卑 non-chinese 食嘅鐵板燒﹐洪家園實在是又平又好味。裡面做野嘅人都好好禮貌﹐所以有時候是覺得少少貴﹐但依然幫襯。我最愛食咯度D蛋包飯﹐是我食過甘多間最好食嘅一間。(food court)
*還有一間值得推薦﹐就是美善廚房﹐系麗晶里度﹐o巨地D水煮魚同豆腐煮魚都超級好味﹐但我吾食得太辣﹐每次都叫小小辣﹐o巨地都好悉心煮得好好味。松鼠魚亦非常吾錯﹗不會太甜或太酸。大溫地區的松鼠魚我食過好多間﹐尼一間做得最好。
