Ted Williams, the previously homeless Ohio man whose golden radio voice has made him an internet star overnight, was detained on Monday night by the Los Angeles Police Department. Police were called to the Renaissance Hotel in Hollywood, according to the LA Times, in response to a disturbance call.
Williams is in Los Angeles as he continues to make the media rounds. After appearances on the Today Show and recording a voiceover for Kraft, Williams received a job offer from Oprah Winfrey, who has just launched her own TV network. "I would like to see him be part of OWN. It would be fantastic to hear him say, 'The Oprah Winfrey Network," said the chat show host and businesswoman.
He also met with Dr. Phil on Monday. The famous TV psychologist had this to say about Williams: "This is a dangerous time for Ted in my opinion. He's going from a street corner to a roller-coaster that's just at breakneck speed. For an addict, that can be a very dangerous time."
