Be the first to Comment 14 Recommendation(s) KELOWNA (NEWS1130) - Kelowna RCMP have some serious concerns about a rally planned for Sunday in support of a man who was kicked in the head by an RCMP constable last week.
Buddy Tavares was apparently shooting at birds on a local golf course without permission to be on the site. He was arrested for careless use of a firearm and that is when he was kicked in the head by Constable Geoff Mantler.
The officer has been suspended with pay, and RCMP Superintendent Bill McKinnon says the public needs to allow the RCMP to do its job. "We realize the processes are not moving as quickly as most people would like, but everyone must understand that the processes must be followed and [they] are legislated under the RCMP Act."
With up to 1,500 people expected at the rally Sunday afternoon, McKinnon says he's concerned things could get out of hand. Mounties will have extra officers at the protest and are meeting with organizers.作者: tiffiant 時間: 2011-1-16 00:41
