Check out what's the weekly special at Home Depot la. Most new hardwood floor systems are now designed for DIY, no need for sanding, nailing and sealing, like the old system. The 手工 hardly matters now.作者: B2L2 時間: 2011-1-25 14:32
I never see a good DIY job for flooring. If you have friends that installed flooring lately, go have a visit and check how the job was done (especially where the floor is crossing a doorway). Ask for their referral if you like the job being done.
Poor workmanship will use divider between rooms instead of a continuous piece, and the floor leaves big gap between baseboard.
I brought my laminate floor from A2 at BridgePort road and I had a friend as my contractor to do my installation. I watched him cutting floor for the tiny space and it wasn't easy. Doing the big piece in the open space is simply and I did help on that myself too.
All floor company do installation by contracting out. I saw really bad job from those contractors though. Just be careful.作者: auyatyat 時間: 2011-1-25 20:06
Agree, DIY laminate floor is not easy. Tools and time. Better get someone to do it and it is not expensive. I won't recommend those you always hear their ad. on the radio. Ask around your friends. I have used two contractors and they are good.
If you own the place and you plan to stay long, go for mid. range material, doesn't worth to use cheap material because the labour cost is the same. I won't go for thicker style like 12mm. Don't see it being too important. If it is 2/f and high traffic, use better sound absorption under-pad. The foam under-pad is only good for basement insulation. Doesn't do a good job in sound proof.作者: tofu 時間: 2011-1-30 19:51
