Voters still split on who should lead the country

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - A new survey suggests Canadians are saying enough to seven years of minority government.
The Canadian Press Harris-Decima poll found 45 per cent of Canadians would like to elect a majority government in the May 2 election. But voters remain split on who should lead that majority.
Twenty-nine per cent want a majority for Stephen Harper's Tories, while 16 per cent want a Liberal majority led by Michael Ignatieff. Harris-Decima chairman Alan Gregg says only 20 per cent want another minority.
Where issues are concerned, the economy tops the list, closely followed by health care and ethics.
Harper campaigns in Prince Edward Island, Friday, while Ignatieff visits central Ontario. NDP Leader Jack Layton is in Sudbury, Ontario.
Local voters forming their strategies
Federal politicians have been doing their best to impress for a week now. News1130 is checking in on the attitudes of local voters.
Do you vote for the person, or do you throw your weight behind a party? With one week of campaigning down, voters are starting to devise strategies.
"I'm usually a supporter of the Liberal party," explains one man. "But right now, I'm not. I'll probably just give my vote to the NDP so they can get my $1.50 per vote."
This morning, we met the party faithful, the apathetic, and the undecided -- those who won't make up their minds until they meet or hear from their local candidates."
