Study predicts housework equality by 2050

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - Who does more of the work in your home? News1130 hit the streets with a new survey that shows men are doing more to help out than they were 25 years ago.
The survey says men and woman won't be equal, when it comes to household chores, until 2050. "I believe that. Years ago, I was married before, and I did probably 90 per cent," says one woman.
Researchers at the University of Oxford are making the prediction, saying women still do more of the cooking and cleaning. However, the study finds men are improving in the last 25 years when it comes to taking care of the kids and getting involved in the extra-curriculars.
Dads are more often staying at home more, while mom heads off to work.
In the US and UK, men went from spending 105 and 90 minutes a day, respectively, on housework and child care, while in the 1960s that jumped to 173 and 148 minutes in the early millennium.
Women's domestic work declined from 360 minutes a day in the 1960s in both countries to 272 and 280 minutes, respectively, in the early 2000s作者: tiffiant 時間: 2011-5-16 08:07
