0 HOPE (NEWS1130) - A 24-year-old Kenyan exchange student is presumed drowned after an accident this afternoon at Kawkawa Lake in Hope.
RCMP Corporal Tracy Wolbeck says they're still trying to figure out exactly what happened.
"There was a floating dock about 70 feet out into Kawkawa Lake from the beach area. He fell off there. We're assuming he was not able to swim, which was what caused the drowning, but that is yet to be determined."
The man was there with a group of other exchange students.
Drivers will be trying to recover the body tonight, but they may have to return in the morning
