VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - How loud are you listening to that music while you're at the gym or waiting for the bus? A medical journal report is warning you to turn down that iPod.
   
Open Medicine praises the EU for limiting how loud devices can play music, and urges Health Canada to follow suit.
   
Some players produce sound with decibels as high as a jackhammer or a jet take-off causing damage anywhere from a permanent ringing to full hearing loss.
   
A study out of the UK finds five to 10 percent of mp3 player users could lose their hearing if they listen too loud longer than an hour a day.

It really is an issue.
When riding a bug, I can usually hear the surrounding ppl's music.  Don't understand how those ppl can stand it to plug that loud headphone in the ears.
