Aaron and his family love eating at Ninkazu Sushi, but he's curious about their pricing for kids. Children three feet and under eat free. Children under five feet and under 12 years old pay the kids rate. And anyone over five feet, regardless of age, pays the adult price.

We asked the BC Human Rights Coalition about the policy:

"What you have here is someone who is taller is being discriminated against. There's not getting a benefit someone else is getting. But under the human rights code unless their size is affected by a physical disability they're not covered by the code," said Robyn Durling of the BC Human Rights Coalition.

We also spoke to the restaurant. It says it charges by height because parents aren't always honest about the age of their children when there's an opportunity to save money. And yes, restaurant staff do actually measure the children.
