Apple co-founder and Chairman Steve Jobs died today, Apple said. He was 56.

"Steve's brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives," Apple said in a statement. "The world is immeasurably better because of Steve."

Jobs had been suffering from various health issues following the seven-year anniversary of his surgery for a rare form of pancreatic cancer in August 2004. Apple announced in January that he would be taking an indeterminate medical leave of absence, with Jobs then stepping down from his role as CEO in late August.

Jobs had undergone a liver transplant in April 2009 during an earlier planned six-month leave of absence. He returned to work for a year and a half before his health forced him to take more time off. He told his employees in August, "I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple's CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come."

One of the most legendary businessmen in American history, Jobs turned three separate industries on their head in the 35 years he was involved in the technology industry.

RIP

As an Apple shareholder, Steve Jobs has my highest respect.
His death is a big loss to Apple as Apple is Steve Jobs.

He is a no BS guy but direct to the business, and he delivered quarters
after quarters of revenue surprises!
The BS members in LYK should learn from him.

my first Apple product was 1982 Apple II..then .. IIe.. IIc.. Lisa... Macintosh... and STOPed b4 iMac... since then I only play some demo, knowing it, NOT own any apple product. Apple is not best product, but, best marketing/image&domain building. Steve was smart and top sales. RIP.

Look, it's all white!!! How pretty!!! You must buy it although it's not as powerful as PC and 40% more expensive!! You should just buy it to show off to others to prove you can afford to waste your $$$.

Without him, all gadgets would have been much cheaper and focus on efficiency.

Worst propaganda: Apple has better security than PC. No body gives a rat ass about Mac doens't mean it is better, those dumb phucks...

At the end, RIP anyways.

I normally won't bother to diu you since you are just a cold blooded selfish freak and you will at least admit it, but when you don't know shxt, you really need to learn to shut the fxxk up. There is really no need for me to explain myself to you, but for the satisfaction of proving you wrong, I'll give it a go.

I despise Long Hair's complete lack of action in the LSD split up last year. Since the political split up, there are certain things that come up at times where I don't agree with his stance and behaviour either. For example, I think he should go target Tong Ga Wah in the HK district elections since he has opened said so before, but now he has chosen to target Shek Lai Him. I think his reasons for this are rather weak.

But when he is fighting for the public's good, especially for the welfare of the poor and underprivileged, I will continue to support him.

Actually, even though I had iPod (free) and iPad, I never really like those two products...
And i HATE iTune...period.

I do like iMac, for the look...so I do not purchase...

Suen ba la.... how happy cow acts here, may not his/her real personality .. (well, just a forum .. anyone can be super hero, or cold blood di-khead!)

BTW .. even I have been using iphone for more then 4 yr ... still never hooked up itune ..no clue about it ... too complicated for me .... lol .. just a phone .. as long as I can make/rec call .. (plus checking message etc) that is enough!
