I plan to order a set of winter tires for my 07 RDX --- the OEM size is 235/55/R18

shall i get the snow tire in the same measurement or i could down size to a R17 to save some money??

advices please!

225/65-17 is what tirerack recommended. "Your vehicle is equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system" so make sure your rim supports them.

Not having TPMS sensors is not going to break your car. The TPMS warning light will light up, but it doesn't really affect anything.

Would you please tell me where did you order the tire?
I want to order winter tire only, don't want the rim. Is it a big deal without TPM?
Where did you pick up the tire?
Is Costco more expansive than the other suppliers?

From the US, Tire Rack, Discount Tire Direct are good choices. You can have them shipped to Point Roberts, but that'll add another $5/tire in storage charge (by the depot).

Locally, there are lots of possible options la. Costco, Crappy Tire, Fountain Tire, Kal Tire, etc.

That's what I have as well. Towards the end of winter tire season, there will be more pot holes on the road. More rubber is better. Not to mention, 18" snow tire is a lot more expensive.

唔係話四季呔響溫哥華唔夠用。大雪紛飛成條路都係雪嘅地方我都用四季呔揸過好多。你識揸，好多時真係 ok。但ok唔代表好，而且就算只係響溫哥華揸嘅話，其實5-6C以下，有雪呔同無雪呔已經 feel 到好大分別。其實你多咗條雪呔，夏天行開果套有無蝕得咁快嘅嗟。最奢侈嘅反為係你屋企有無地方去擺、去收埋唔用果套呔仲真。

安全啲、設備好啲總係好事來嘅。

没错啊，我都曾经向Alberta 轻功雪上飘左五年啦。所以认为温哥华的雪真系小儿科

Velco has tire storage service. They have speedy service anyways so there is no reason to say no.

If you have a set of winter and summer, you even out the tire wear over 4-5 years, I think it's cheaper that way.

Don't let the name fool you. Snow tire doesn't mean it is good for snow only. To be honest, it should be named winter tires. In general, snow/winter tires are good for temperature below about 7 C.

All season tires are not good enough for winter, imo.

That's why I suggested Velco as you can just drive in, pay the dudes there to swap them, and they store your tires. Repeat next year. It should be done less than 1 hour.

唔係唔可以再磅水，但你知我呢啲死人孤寒種㗎啦～

Get some dark or powder coated rims, then your problem will be gone. My black rims... I just wash it and if I don't see them, I assume they are clean.

I ordered from 1010tires. I live in richmond and they will be shipped to my nearest Volco tires. i did some research for my set of Pirelli and 1010 is the cheapest canadian seller. i dun think without a TPM is a big deal and i will swap my all season back once winter is gone.
