Was driving down Kingsway east of Boundary and noticed that 牛仔餐廳 (Cattle Cafe) has opened in the same strip mall as Samosa Garden. The location is between Boundary and Tyne. Even though I'm not a huge fan of 牛仔餐廳 but it at least gives more 茶餐廳 options to folks living in the area. It's a pain sometimes to have to drive to Burnaby or Richmond in search of 茶餐廳 options! (I personally don't like 本味, 54th Avenue Cafe, and 海馬

is the Burnaby 牛仔 still open. The two locations are so close to each other.

檀島 is so bad that i totally forgot to include it in my list

@ACC-HE: is it? i always pass by that area and it's usually not that full. then again, now that there's a pho place there as well, finding spots might be a tad tricky.

@dmnf: i think the Burnaby location is still open.

檀島 is still here after so man years. Food is not bad there but I just don't like the location. It's hard to find parking on Main Street. Besides that, they really should have a renovation...

wow, is the Main St. location still there? the bad one that i was referring to is the one on Kingsway

Both Main Street and Kingsway/Joyce 檀島 are still there.

Haven't tried the Main St one but the Kingsway/Joyce one is really no good. You need to have a good immune system to go there. I always have stomach ache after going there.

Oops I don't know there's a 檀島 on Kingsway...thought only one location on Main st...

The bby Cattle charges 50cents for a sandwich take out, they never mentioned to yours truly they call it the " Packing charge " .

First time I noticed there is a 50c short, the next day i look at the menu which is $4.50
then it came to $5.04 plus HST.

I take they have a warped sense of logic, usually restaurants encourage take out as it doesn't occupy their precious floor space.

Its sounds like they're digging their own grave slowly.

I heard 海馬 was past tense now,
The staff was not too organized, that was 2-3 mths ago when i went there.

Seahorse Cafe was closed a few days ago.

Golden Oscar Cafe on Rupert + 22nd is pretty edible.

海馬梗係會摺啦~ 撇開D野好唔好食吖, 佢日日都係10點就收, 連禮拜五, 六, 日都係, 茶記黎架~ 咁早收, 想唔摺都難啦!

海馬真短命,每次渣車經過都營住佢做唔做得住,門口望落裝修都唔錯,不過車位好似唔多方便,十點收又真係聽收皮,聚寶閣都好似執左?Kingsway d餐館都唔係咁易做.

前幾晚同我老公去過試喇~ 哇~ 逼夾到不得了...
我叫左個"牛丸脆皮腸喇沙米線"+熱檸蜜, 我老公就叫左個"紅腸魚蛋公仔麵"+可樂
先講個米線, 個湯要將隻匙擺到埋個鼻隔離, 先聞到少少椰汁味, 真係差D都會索埋D湯落個鼻入面. 味道呢... 除左辣, 都係辣, 個湯無味, 無魚味, 無椰汁味, 無咖喱味, 基本上, 連鹹味都無! 但就有吃極都吃唔完個紹菜!
個公仔麵呢... 個湯又係淡而無味, 但亦係有吃之不盡個紹菜....
所以... 我都唔知我會唔會再去.. 要睇我老公喇.. 但唔再去個機會就好大囉~

今日try左依間新分店... 好差!

老細唔捨得請伙記, 水吧哥哥一人兼4識: 收$+沖茶+整雞蛋仔+傳菜... 途中冇見過佢洗手... d $好多菌架嘛

Waitress拎左2隻叉﹑2隻羹﹑2隻碗埋黎﹐有兩件都黏住d乾左嘅飯粒! 污糟!

Waitress用個兜仔載住幾塊濕嘅抹檯布, 個兜放o係水吧一個比較高嘅位置... 下左方係出飲品嘅地方, 下右方整雞蛋仔... 我睇住d waitress o係個兜度拎起塊濕布, 有食物碎屑跌出黎... 真係好大機會跌落d茶/雞蛋仔度......

抹完檯, d姐姐拎住塊污糟濕布, 跨過d飲品放返落個兜度

... 坐左成個鐘, 冇見過有人洗布! d污糟濕布撈埋一齊, 簡直係交換細菌!

食物... 學我阿媽話齋, 佢個集團真係"keep到個水準" - 難食!

味道都係其次, 污糟真係接受唔到! 唔會再去!

牛仔唔係茶餐廳,出品一般,但如果你食過海馬和54,其他就算門口棵草都好好食,不如去馬拉星啦
