Want to share one of the projects I recently completed... a powder room

It is located on the main floor where guests will use. My first thought of improvement when I saw the beige paint is "I want to make it happier and livelier!".

I stuck with the color theme used in the entire house to keep the harmony. I removed and replaced the mirror for something more fun. The wall deco doubles as a mirror frame and a focal point in the powder room. I love the visual effect of the frame being flat but the mirror raises fro the surface! I also added accessories (that are not to take away but "enhance" the focal point) around the counter and placed pebbles inside the sink.

I actually wanted to change the 2 yr old counter and cabinet but due to time constrain and budget, the new look was achieved by creating a focal point, adding color interest to de-emphasize the counter and cabinet instead of replacing it all. Maybe this is another project to keep in mind for the near future.

Thanks Fibi! I'm hoping to change the lighting some time down the road as well.

man... if it is as easy as a click of a button like in Sims...

Acc-he, it is as easy as a click of a button.  Just pull your wallet out and its done.

Putting up wall deco wasn't fun for the 1st time.  We fight so hard with it and spent a day on it.  But once we learn (after), it is actually quite easier.  We have another full-height wall deco somewhere else in our house and we used one nite instead.

I found that w/ renovation, $ is not the only thing...always need to find a TRUSTWORTHY CONTRACTOR...that's the hardest part...

Some how I imagine a small crystal chandelier would look good in that room.

Actually sconces would look best as they do not cast shadows which is great for applying make up. Don't know why but all developers don't know that.
If anyone is building a home fr scratch, it's a good chance to install sconces rather then ceiling-type lighting because once bad lighting is installed, it's very costly and time consumming to change it.

I though most bathrooms have sconces. Mine is a combination of sconces and ceiling light.

Lucky you! Could you take a picture of your bathroom?
How old is your home? I find that older homes were built better than one ones.
