I don't think there is much needed for renting a car
just driver license, credit car, and your car insurance
they probably would ask you to get the damage waiver as well
but if you are renting for more than 2-3 days, getting it from ur insurance agent would be a lot cheaper
cuz last year my friend rented a SUV for our big white trip and there could be a lot of flying rock chips on the highway so we asked the insurance agent to get an insurnace for us
and for my very only once experience
I rented a car from Hertz because my car was a total loss and I had to wait for icbc to do the investigation....
and driver license and credit card were the only thing they asked for if i remember correctly......作者: fibbi 時間: 2012-2-11 23:00

Don't really need to buy anything, you could bring your own GPS and car seats.
If you are using your credit card's benefit, please read the fine print as many cards will require you to pay up-front, then they will reimburse you (it could take some time as they need to "investigate").
Since I am constantly dealing with credit card's warranty service (more like insurance companies), the process for the end-user is relatively long and drag for weeks, I would suggest if you don't like hassles, just buy the ADW.
Before you even drive the rental car away, make note of any damages, rock chips, scratch paints and write that on the check list. My last rental has paint damages on every angle of the car and I literally filled up the whole checklist with numbers... LOL
