Sigh :( I rented downstairs to someone and there's gate remote control for him to park cars inside but when he moved out, he said he lost the key. Arg!!!! I wonder if anyone knows anywhere in vancouver that I can possibly make another copy of the remote. I tried googling but lots sites outside of vancouver and random sites that I don't even know if I can trust them.

Anyone here willing to give me a hand? ^_^

If safety is what you care about: get your garage door opener replaced with a new one instead. Crappy tire has it regularly at around 189CAD or similar, which will buy you peace of mind.

I won't trust any replacement remote ones, for my father in-law's garage has been opened once by "drive-by" remote by someone we do not know. Fortunately, there's just mainly garbage inside (nothing worth the effort of stealing) so they moved on.

depends on the type of garage door opener.
some could regenerate another code so that the old remote control doesn't work anymore.

so find your garage door manual, see if it is capable of doing it.

Canadian Tire sells universal garage door opener for ~$30. It can be used to replace most of the popular model. You can go to Skylink's website to search your garage door motor's model number to see if it works with your motor.
You need to open the case and change the jumper settings to match the code in your home. Sometimes it is not easy. Worst case if it doesn't work, return to Crappy tire.
