Saw an ad on newspaper and they are doing promotion for $39.95 - 6oz Kobe beef with pasta or rice, soup + drinks.  Anybody try it? Plan to have a try, and if you try it, please leave some comment for me, thank you!

My understanding is that the Kobe beef sold in NA may not be raised or imported from Japan. But it could we raised by the same method in NA thus the name Kobe beef.

Btw, dunno about US, but in Canada we can get Japanese Kobe beef:

If memory serves me right

The difference is that the

US   Wagyu is Japanese Wagyu cross breed with US Angus,
while the Aussie Wagyu  are pure breed  Japanese Wagyu cows
raised in Australia, much more resembled the native one, good for
teppanyaki and thin cut grilling.
While the US one to be less fatty, but more pronounced beefy taste
good for  high end steak; and way less expensive.

My point is: they should call them Australia Wagyu instead of Kobe beef.

Yes, it has nothing to do with Kobe,
but then Kobe beef is a generic name for Wagyu beef,
to be used for Teppanyaki  style restaurants globally.
Well, I seldom eat red meat, not really my problem.

So 龍崗雞 produced by farms in Hong Kong should not be called 龍崗雞.

啱喎, Champagne區以外的汽酒, 就唔可以叫Champagne, 只可以叫 Sparkling wine.

It is Kobe-style Beef or  Wagyu-style Beef.

I doubt there is any farm in HK for commercial nowadays.  All products are from big 6.

Don't know why but chicken in HK and China is so much better than here, even with the same breed.

I think they are cross breed from Canadian chicken, not imported. So not comparable to the one from HK , TW or China

That is not true at all. Hong Kong still produce lots of poultry locally.

http://www.gov.hk/en/about/about ... ocs/agriculture.pdf

Local Production: The gross value of local agricultural
production totalled $615 million in 2010. Three per cent of
the vegetables Hong Kong people consumed, together
with 56 per cent of the live poultry and 6 per cent of the
live pigs, come from local farms. Local production is
geared to complement rather than compete with other
major market suppliers. Production efforts are aimed
mainly at high-value fresh foods.

Kobe Bryant should build a farm, and feed some cow.. make it real "Kobe Beef".
or "All Start Kobe Beef"
