What do you think?
I saw this bus last weekend and I don't think it is nice.
It will be a problem...
It's bad....but in the first place, why would it be able to be publish on the bus?
Isn't translink has some right or has some say about the content of the ad? I think they should be the one to first say "no" to a pure chinese text ad (same goes to other non-official language).
I don't mind Chinese text but it should have English SOMEWHERE...

It's not a problem having Chinese, but the font and design of the AD is simply bad taste.
How inconsiderate + insensitive can they be/become these days?
First, there's that big pak-yan chiu see sign (w/o English translation) where the former FutureShop used to be, and now bus sign all in simplified Chinese?
This is despicable, I'd say. even in racially-tolerant Vancouver. This will stir up more racial unrest from other locals as time goes by.

even Telus/Shaw/etc... have Chinese version of website, they've never placed a Chinese only ad on bus, they promoted via the Chinese media. REW got it all wrong.

It's not the language, it's just ugly.
Translink should reject the ad because it's ugly and 影響市容作者: satil 時間: 2013-3-28 15:15
what if the ad is written in French only?
IMO, ppl have the right and freedom to advertise in whatever language
it is their choice to target whatever audiences and not to do business with whoever
If I don't understand the ad, i just don't care
If most of the ppl find the ad is ugly, the market will punish the advertiser as the ad can't bring any business to them and they just waste their money作者: fibbi 時間: 2013-4-3 08:02
IMO it's a matter of respect for the local people (any races) that all sign should be written in English. We have signs in Chinese which is totally fine, but still there should be English somewhere. It's not just a matter of target audience as a business decision.

Are you responsible for the official translation of names? If they use these names and they understand these names, then it is okay for them. You can use your own version, LOL.

唔係responsible for the official translation of names又唔評得, 唔論得, 唔講得呀?
Today's GPS technology is way better than 50 years ago. Canadians have to use foreign GPS, because Canada does not have the ability to build its own, by its own launching rockets.
