Hi all , since this is an auto forum, I am sharing my car wax collection.
Since I have O.C.D. syndrome, therefore I like to keep my car clean / shiny.
Car wax mainly comes into 2 types:
1) Carnauba wax from carnauba tree which will provide a warm glowing , wet effects
2) Man-made sealant which will provide a reflective / shiny effect with longer durability
Here is my little man cave:
When I first started detailing , I mainly use Autoglym HD wax ( even now !) as they are good with reflection with average reasonable price. I also have some higher-end sample pots from Zymol , which is a US based company producing carnauba wax with natural ingredients.
However, as time went by, I found that the wax above could not satisfy my addiction to wax , therefore I invested in somemore high end wax.
48% carnauba wax from a Scotland based company - Mitchell and King which produces custom wax for customers
Zymol Vintage , 61 % of carnauba lwax with other ingredients such as bee wax , coconut extract etc.
Hope you all enjoy作者: someone16 時間: 2013-11-28 22:03
Nice collection! How often do you wax? I use sealant cuz I heard carnauba waxes require more frequent applications. (I'm way too lazy haha)作者: gn02156668 時間: 2013-11-28 23:27
I usually wax every 2 weeks in summer to keep my carnauba level up. You are right my friend, Carnauba does not last longer than sealant. However , there is a new kind of wax called Hybrid wax in the market ......
What type of sealant do you use usually =) ??
Sometimes I do combo, put sealant on first for protection, then top up with carnauba wax to enhance the depth / wetness of the paint作者: someone16 時間: 2013-11-29 19:19
I use Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant V3.0 (16oz). Seems to keep my paint smooth for a couple months.
Do you do it by hand or by a polisher?作者: gn02156668 時間: 2013-11-29 21:06
nice, wolfgang is a good brand. I used to use wolfgang quick detailier in a gallon size , however it was so expensive , so I used autoglym at the end.
I am doing it by a polisher now. Name = Simonz , a cheap one from Canadian tire. They are on sale once in a while. It is useful and save me some time =)
where do you buy your detail stuff usually?作者: someone16 時間: 2013-11-30 23:15
Bought my stuff at eshine.ca, usually I wait for their sales though cuz shipping is kinda expensive.
I've also bought stuff on from 604autocare.com. I actually found the guy on Craigslist and he pointed me to that website to pick and choose what I needed for local pickup. Not too sure if he still does that though.
Have you heard of Optimum No Rinse? You can use as quick detailer/clay lube/waterless car wash depending on mixture with water. I've found that its alot cheaper buying that and making my own quick detailer.作者: gn02156668 時間: 2013-12-1 00:19
oh eshine. I bought stuff from them before and indeed the shipping is quite expensive unless you buy more than 150 , then free shipping.
I buy my stuff from a local detailer in maple ridge. He is a sponsor at revscene as well, so little bit of discount plus no shipping as I am picking the items up in person.
Yup, I heard of Optimum no rinse and they are good quality product too =)
