X300 MSRP: $3200 to start with 64GB SSD only.... if I don't want SSD, can I lower the price by like $1000?

i dont think you can config the x300 to not have an SSD though...

Toshiba A200 and P200 series are probably the most problematic ones. The U300 on the other hand is superb. The new A300 and L3000 series share the same outlook and material used as HP Pavilions, I suspect they are from the same OEM. These new models should be better.
Lenovo, haven't seen the Lenovo ThinkPad lately. Those carry the IBM logo still runs good.
