there is not much snow in van .. even snowing .. just some wet snow .. no needs to put salt la.. no good for cars ..

It's sand and salt, it's a royal pain to flush them all off.. and I risk the chance of wetting my intake filter, then I will get a CEL...

They're using something much worse than salt, is chemical. Is pretty corrosive. If u see trucks, cars from North u'll understand.
But the ice can be very deadly.
Sunday I was coming down some hills in BBY, is no fun at all.

Some say ABS is not much better? is it?

因為落雪嗰時會有人喺大街度灑鹽嘛… 咁啲車喺條路度渣都會俾啲鹽成底都係… 如果唔洗甩佢架車會生锈

I doubt Vancouver will have snow any time soon.. last year just Nov... and little in Dec.

Don't wash your car on your driveway when it is under zero degree celcius... or don't wash it when it is near evening.. your driveway will be covered with ice... and it is worse when the side walk is also covered with ice and a person slipped and fall in front of your house ~

How come every time when I washed my car, it will snow/rain the next day?

It's ok la...it's Vancouver here...cars won't be as rusty as those from the north or interior la...if there's no rain right after the snow fall then go to those self serve pressure wash place and wash the wheel wells, lower panels and under carraige. If there is rain then no need to do anything because the rain will wash it clean enough. After a few years, you most likely won't be driving the same car anyway...
