u dont know the difference?
in other places, and in many cases, the problems are mostly due to the fail of following the food handling procedures or ..... anyways, unintentional

however, those bastard merchants in China (not all of them, but u will never know who is the bastard), they make the poisonous food because the real ingredients are more expensive, so they use the faked one and wanna earn more $$$

Those people produce contaminated milk powder should be 打靶. But i don't agree with you that every brand sucks.

I think there are HUGE room to improve production assurance procedure.

I do not think the milk seller know what kind of chemical add to the milk to get away the protein test, there should be someone who know it and "teach" them with money how to cheat.

Factory know it already, but they are too slow to announce stopping parent feed the baby with this product.

Ironically, the corporation involved in this case is classified by government as the QA-Free manufacturer...

I don't understand the concept of "QA-free manufacturer"

You mean, whoever put in the inferior contents, did not know that the contents were harmful? They should use high quality materials and just raise the prices. But sometimes the customers always look for cheaper prices.

tainted milk is affecting a lot of products. Lots of drinks, snacks...etc contain melamine as well.

I read that Pandas are being fed imported milk powder but Lion and orangutans are not as lucky.

Lion cub, baby orangutans at Shanghai-area zoo fall ill from tainted milk
September 25, 2008 - 10:58 am  By: THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

SHANGHAI, China - A lion cub and two baby orangutans have developed kidney stones at a zoo near Shanghai, making them the latest victims of China's tainted milk crisis.

Veterinarian Zhang Xu at the Hangzhou Zhangxu Animal Hospital says the three baby animals had been nursed with milk powder for more than a year,

The powder was made by the Sanlu Group Co., which is at the centre of the tainted milk crisis.

The industrial chemical melamine has been found in a growing range of Chinese-made dairy products, and it has been blamed for sickening 54,000 infants in China and killing four.

The orangutans and lion cub at the Hangzhou Safari Park near Shanghai were found with kidney stones Wednesday after concerned officials sent them to Zhang for a checkup.

Ju Lijia, the animal park's public affairs manager, said the three animals were the only ones found with kidney stones.

"The milk powder crisis made us very worried about the health situation of baby animals," Ju said in a telephone interview Wednesday. "We stopped feeding with Sanlu after it was found to be tainted."

Officials at the Beijing Zoo and at zoos elsewhere in Shanghai and the major cities of Guangzhou and Xian said they had no cases of animals sickened from milk powder.

An official at the world's most famous panda reserve, the Wolong Nature Reserve, said the baby pandas there are not fed milk formula.
