do you have any official link to this ?!? or.....just this?
作者: somewhereintime    時間: 2008-9-19 18:28

Everyone can apply to their own election district office, the official
website is www.elections.ca . But the ED59006 have opening for English/
Chinese speaking staffs to fill the position. Most of the other may not
need Chinese speaking applicants. I can only speak on behalf of our office,
as the Community Relations Officer.

ok from what time to what time on election day.

i was an election officer before but i need to work on the 14. and my job pays way more than elections canada offer so it is not worth for me to take day off.

Consider it is a way to serve our country, pay is honourary.  All political parties
recruit volunteers only. you may get a lunch box for all-day work if you are lucky.
The pay for E-Day is $193.06 for DRO and $159.32 for Poll clerk.
Advance Poll DRO get $386.12 for 3 dayx/24 hour.   It is not a
decent pay job in Vancouver/Richmond standard. However, the scale is applicable across
the country and not negotiable. My work time worth $1,000 a day as a consultant
but I choose to spend a lot of hour for election work so it is a matter of value.

It is what my clients willing to pay for; they may save 5 dollars for each dollar spent;
but the life is brutal, people hire consultants to pick brain

According to election by-law, you can only work for
the election district where you live. Our Election District
is Delta-Richmond East so only residents of Delta and
Richmond can apply Good news for us Chinese Canadian there
are some positions especially created for us. Again, it is not
a good paid job, just a mean to serve our country. Please
spread the words.
