has anyone tried 米線之王 on kingsway? heard they are new open and famous in 米線, serves bbt too!

I just tried it tonight.  The 米線 and the soup base is really good for mine (the shrimp one).  However, the portion not that big, the bowl looks big but it is very shallow.  I am ok but my husband needs to get mcdonald's afterwards..hahaha..the price is ok too.  we ordered 2 noodle and it cost 13.50, 15 included tips.

係温哥華好難揾到正宗同好味架啦, 同埋米線有好的種既，未當佢係普通粉一碗囉。 講開又講Lansdowne間金如意既魚湯米線都幾好味, 不過要堂食, 拿走啲米線會淋晒.

what is big deal about BBT?  BBT doesn't make a restuarant better. Even HK style cafes serve BBT now, but i never want to try. It does not match with the style in my opinion. Therefore, I always had HK style milk tea.

Other than this, I only have original milk tea or honey green milk tea. Others are just chamical mix. Not good to my body at all.

That portion actually looks quite alot, it's X times more than those stupid wonton noodles in richmond (麥X記) I never enjoy those wonton there....

I did not eat anything there when I was there last night, just order 2 Bubble tea, notice that their flavor is much stronger than other tea house. And the price is CHEAP!!  definitely will come back again!!!

You are right. May be this place is not doing the 雲南 style. They are close to each other geographically.

不容錯過的緬甸美食是魚湯米線（Monhinkha），以香茅、黃薑粉、小紅蔥、辣椒與柳丁提香等調味，再加入緬甸獨有豆餅增添口味。此外，我在當地吃了東炎（Tom Yam）後，才知道東炎原產地不是泰國，而是緬甸北方的美食。

Comeon, China invented 雲南米線 and 緬甸 just copied it from China.
There are so many regional styles of 米線 in China.

hahaha, the wonton noodles at 麥X記 is small portion. But it is still full of people all the time. Sometimes, it is the quality, not the quantity that is important. It is all about the enjoyment of the art of noodles, not the size. There are high-quality la mian shops in Hong Kong, Asia and elsewhere that also serve smaller portions for the discerning customers.

i know what u say about quality, if i want quantity i go all u can eat la...

note i didn't say i won't go, i only say the portion is small; so sometime it makes a guy likes me hard to order ~ 1 order is not enough, 2 orders is probably too much; i will only consider them when i am dining with more than 3ppl

Tried 米線之王 and you can make your meal bigger with $1 more.
$2 more with the drink.

They only have 4, 5 tables.
So, if big group is going, it is not easy to have one big table to fit all.

Comments:

1) A bit pricy. Pho is more budget.
2) Soup base is not as good as I expected

They have a lot of rooms for improvement

the drink is only $3 by itself
so if you guys didnt want the drink in the beginning i dont suggest getting it just because it seems like a deal ($1 cheaper)

and i agree on that the soup base is not as good as i have expected too

the duck soup was quite fine
but not the burma soup

generally to me
the restaurant is not bad but not as good as i have expected

"琴晚"岩岩去試完返黎, 都好忙好多人...

試左佢差不多八成既小食, 咖哩魚蛋 / 魷魚, 鹵水牛肉 / 雞翼 / 蛋, 醬爆豆干, 蒜子伴黃瓜, 麻辣海蜇同埋煎餃子; 最後大食既我地竟然可以encore左鹵水牛肉 / 雞翼同埋餃子 ~ 叫咁多既原因係因為好似大家都覺得d portion比較細, 我同幾個男仔friend又超大食; 點知叫埋加大既米線(佢地而家有得加$1變大)之後, 就有d好似叫多左既感覺lol ~ 當然我地實食得晒, 不過就真係抱住肚走, 賣單都係$16一個人連tips?

一碗麵, 一杯野飲, 好多小食, 我覺得又唔貴喎 ~ 正常既情況我去食台灣野都差唔多, 三個人: 珍珠奶茶x3, 小食x2再加飯/麵x3, 都$50幾賣單啦 ~ haha...我諗, 我地真係太大食

講番d野食, 既然encore得, 鹵水牛肉(煮得岩岩好, 唔"un"), 鹵水雞翼 (可以大隻少少食好d, 可能我太鍾意食雞翼keke), 咖哩魚蛋 (聽聞好生意到賣晒, 所以等左一陣), 同埋煎餃子都係一流; 醬爆豆干就好似多左少少芽菜, 我唔食得辣所以麻辣海蜇同埋咖哩魚旦果d就留番比derek128 / 布小熊去比意見喇 (我覺得唔錯, 不過唔知其他人會唔會覺得唔夠辣etc, 不過係我地其中一個想encore既小食)...

緬甸魚湯米線比較個人化, 鍾意既會好鍾意, 琴既幾個friend叫都滿意, 我亦試左少少...

香西魚湯米線同秘製鴨都好大眾化, 兩個湯底都好好...我叫左鴨肉, 同牛肉一樣唔會煮得太"un"...配料都好鍾意, 應該今日會去試埋個車仔飯同蕃茄肉醬湯米線(因為琴既食唔到)

另外我個哈蜜瓜奶茶同我女朋友個荔枝綠茶都ok, 唔會太甜 (通常我都要叫少甜)...食完全部既野又唔會好口乾...

唔知琴晚其他人既意見又如何?

can't really compares pho with those noodle, pho doesn't take long time to prepare that's why it can be served in a low cost; honestly, 冇乜幾多間pho真係好好食...

soup base, can u tell me what u are expecting? ie...too salty? no flavour? or?

i believe there is always rooms for improvement and i am sure that's what they are doing (since shanshan's visit now they have "large for extra $1" lol

well if you are not going to order drink to begin with, of course $1 cheaper is not a big deal; but for those of us who will order drink, $1 i can upgrade to a large noodle la wor...lol

as i said in another post, burma soup is very personal, to me that soup base actually gives me more surprise than the duck soup; so i guess it's more like u like it or u hate it lol...

usually i dun have expectation when i go try any restaurant, even if i have heard good review (which, sometime is bs); that's why i ended up trying with friends and going there with parents today again (as they didn't disappointed me, but i will probably try to tell the boss, some more "green" in the noodle will make it better...lol)

個樣睇落似咖哩，但係怕辣既我又唔覺得辣，湯入面有青檸，幾得意。DEREK128 order左一個，我就食左大魚湯米線，食完唔會口乾果下正，d 米線滑，咸度岩岩好，下次會叫佢落多d 莧茜。如果佢呢個湯底再加埋銀針粉就真係一絕，好多年冇食過。

今日帶左父母去試, 不過佢地仲係冇蕃茄肉醬湯米線同麻醬海蜇手撕雞, 勁失望!!!

叫左個香西魚湯米線, 清得黎幾好味 (秘製鴨湯米線就好似飲雞湯, 飲鴨湯咁, 唔會太salty, 兩個食完都唔口乾)...試左我媽咪個鴨湯米線, 同琴晚一樣咁好...希望水準可以保持啦...

車仔飯都試埋, 餸好似多個飯囉, 同埋如果可以加d伴菜就好, 太肉喇 lol

三個餐(我今日又唔駛叫加大都飽喎), 三杯野, 一個小食(餃子), 都係$33連小費?

i also went tonight with my boyfriend....

he had the sesame chicken soup one.....i tasted the soup base...it was quite good```and he added $1 to size it up ` which was worth it...coz he was super full afterwards haha....he also added $2 for the lychee green tea, which also tasted flavorful, unlike some other bbt place out there which is tasteless!

I had the duck soup one, maybe i was bad luck or something, but most of the duck i had was bones didn't really get to taste any of the meat, only 2 small pieces. AND sadly, they were very tough to eat. but the soup base was good and the noodles were just perfect ``` i also had the coconut milk tea with pearls...i liKe it...coz the coconut flavor is not the same as other bbt places. very strong flavor too !

we also ordered the 鹵水牛肉 too. good good !
all together was only $24 + tips !

worth going again !

but one weird thing tonight, the restaurant was soooo quiet today because they did not play any music @ all, lol until when most of the customers left already, then they started playing it hahah which was kinda awkward. coz everybody had to lower their tone down to talk lol....

yeah we noticed about the music part too, i guess they probably dun want the music to be super loud so like most of the bbt place, turn out everyone has to speak louder?

i dun think my duck has a lot of meat, compares to chicken it sure has less...but the duck is not "fat"? some duck feels quite "oily" when u eat...lol

u can park on kingsway except 3pm to 6pm, so far i have the luck to park on kingsway every close to the restaurant...

last sat nite i was there with 9 other friends, we had 6 cars there (all came from diff direction) and 5 of us park within "vision" (if u walk close to the windows u will see them all, 2 on lincoln and 3 on kingsway)...

as far as i know u can't park at the condo's underground parking...

was just there again tonite with my friend and tried their 芝麻雞湯米線...it's same good! my only complaint is their coffee machine seems not to be operating yet (why always no coffee?!) and they should start giving me VIP card or discount lol....eat there 3 days in a row, i think i need a break...but really dunno where else to eat near metro...sigh...

the restaurant is pretty small...the food was alright i thought, noodles a bit too soft, i prefer noodles with a bit more "dan sing" i guess you could say, but maybe that's just my preference and not how true 米線 should be~

早兩日去過嚟, 一句講晒:不外如是.
D嘢一嚟我就以經知道我唔去第二次.
完全台式格局, 台式size, 台灣仔就實會鍾意. 座响度同條女 "耶耶耶" 足一晚都幾好.


入得嚟LYK, 循例要踩"廢柴"兩腳, 以尊重鄉例:    廢柴 你食X喇.

星期天打算拉11個人去看來要改地點了

(不過我今天9:35進去, 看到兩個老外9:55進來都做他們生意, 真的還不錯...最後坐到10:20離開....都還有3座人在哪裡....辛苦員工了)

(門口還說批皮多名員工.....20個座位的餐廳頂多兩個waiter就夠了吧....還需要多? =口=)

that's why i went there 3 times last weekend just to try everything out, i think i will go try again tmr (my sister and my other friend are both there just NOW)...

i have only tried 3 noodles (the whole thing, taste wise i have tried them all except the spicy one and the tomato one, do they even have that tomato one? lol)

last time we were there with a group of 10, lucky we called ahead and get reservation...made us feel bad to just sit there and not order enough food ~ couple pair of ppl came in and left...they sure need more seat and it gave us a good chance to order 80% of the snack...

i think they are still quite new so probably that's why they are hiring? not openning till so late is probably because they are not really a bubble tea place?

Went there today, no one was there (weather I guess). I ordered the duck soup and my friend ordered the chicken one. The portion is all right, at least we were both full after. We added $2 for the drink combo, and the drink is just like any other BBT place that uses powder.

The food is definitely good, the soup is not greasy and I could taste little to no MSG at all.

We were given a card after, free drink on the next visit. Not bad for promo. Total $20 after tips and tax.

呢個禮拜食完米線之王同 "上面管" (星光隔離)...

我會strongly recommand 米線之王囉, 好好多! 上面管既湯同麵都還可以, 不過成碗野最"貴"既肉就唔得 ~ 仲要係三個都唔得, 又鹹, 又冇肉(多骨), 又肥(冇乜瘦既肉), 我都算肥仔都會食到想嘔; D 烤麸又唔夠味, 個雞翼梗加唔好提喇, 失望而回!!! 反之米線之王食完唔會好乾乾, d野唔會太鹹太甜或太肥; 當然唔少得張free drink card, 一定會再返去!!!

不過天氣真係幾麻煩, 再唔清一清d雪真係冇位停車...

It's 啱啱好 for me... My favourite so far... second would be the spicy shrimp one.

I went there last night and tried the burma .
well, the atmosphere is ok, the service is ok too. but the food is not as good as i expected. too much spices and so oily.

I tried it last Saturday. It wasn't anything special for me though. I saw a table that sat down after me being served, so I asked the waitress about my food. At the end of the meal, she gave us a free BBT coupon.

OIC...thanks for letting me know. It's actually OK to go without wi-fi, since I was busy reading the magazine. Btw, the magazine is really "new". I got the same one from my HK trip last month.

The rice there is little bit short of "餸”， only 4-5 small pieces of chicken for the bowl of rice; had to order sth else to finish up my 白飯.......

Last time I had my air with me, and I remember I selected something called "blow fish star" (something like that, i don't remember now).
And the speed was fast too.

Oh well but that was like last month.

I finally went there last night.  I ordered the Burma fish soup rice noodle while my wife ordered the hot & sour pawn soup alone with 2 drinks.  I spent total including tax 20 bucks which was reasonable.  

Mine tasted like curry coup and my wife's tasted like Thai's Tong Yum soup.  I like my wife's better.  My wife said if hers can be a little more spicy, it would taste better.  I like my curry laksa better than this noodle soup.

The drink was tall but it was not the best.

i've been there a month a ago.  we ordered 4 bowls of different 米線.  the one i ordered cilantro fish soup rice noodle just like  "fish balls noodle" with a few fish balls on top.  as shanshan's comments, small portion.  other choices that my friends ordered were not surprised ... for sure much msg put inside 'cos we felt weired afterward.  the bbt were pretty good.

No it is not weird at all. The Japanese put cheese in noodle soup. Is that weird?

但我覺得其中一個waitress 好奇怪囉~ 一係落錯單, 一係俾漏野....同佢講返仲同我地argue 話我地冇講到...好似我地先係 trouble customers 囉~

不過麵同飲品都不錯~ 有機會想試多o的小吃!!

went with friends last night
ordered duck noodle, beef noodle, burma noodle and fish noodle
all quite good
they made a mistake on the bill
but the waitress was very nice
she correct it after and very polite
