WHISTLER (NEWS1130) - A gondola tower has partially collapsed on the Excalibur Gondola system a short distance from Whistler Village. Police reports say some passengers were trapped inside two gondolas on way back from Blackcomb Mountain. Two people were taken to hospital, but RCMP say there were no serious injuries.
One car of the gondola came to rest on a bus shelter on the perimeter of Whistler Village. Firefighters are using ladders to reach the gondolas and rescue the passengers. B.C. ambulance service dispatched six ambulances and an air ambulance following the accident that happened around 2:30 p.m.
Sergeant Steve Wright of Whistler RCMP says the gondolas didn't fall, and they remain on the cables with passengers inside. The tower that partially collapsed was near Fitzsimmons Creek, between Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. Police say the cause of the accident is unknown.作者: B2L2 時間: 2008-12-16 17:34
Good that there was no major injuries.
Now are they able to repair/rebuild something for 2010....
