數碼年代，隨時隨地都可以聽一首歌，拍一張照片。追求數碼科技的同時，卻有一撮人仍舊鍾情菲林、黑膠唱片和胆機。究竟有什麼東西讓他們如此享往昔日的時光？

I know some kids will say " on 9 la! film? 黑膠唱片? on 9 la! 胆機? ipod la! "

我都係老餅一名﹐但係我都要讚mp3偉大發明。你以前聽cassette聽收音機﹐帶錄帶﹐D音色差到無論啦﹐講咩以前D人識享受唧? 有錢人(好似我呢D上流社會大小姐)就有hi-fi音嚮﹐一般家庭咪又係錄收音機同去唱片鋪逐隻歌叫人幫你錄帶。都無咩版權可言。

再之前未有walkman﹐真係你唔洗諗普通屋企會放唱盤﹐就算放到﹐都放唔到大喇吧啦。小喇吧就有。

反而係80年代尾90年代有錢人多左先叫做有人玩得起﹐仲要其實都係得個擺﹐好多有錢人屋企十年唔開。好似櫃頂支XO。

That is why I said ..  not suitable for some "newbie" or those teens la..

As they can EASY .. EASY to search all the LATEST spec on newest /powerful cars .. newest gadget .. new CD .. new camera comparision ..

However .. those newbie .. dont know what is "experience" ..  what is "FEEL/TASTE"

I dont againist new tech, watching HD TV, 7.1 or whatever is fine ..  but I gotta have my Hi Fi room with Tube amp ..  will nowaday Tram kid understand?  not as all ..  can they advice?  not at all .. as they may not do their research on net ..

Same as camera, I agree with what they said, I feel lucky, I have been in the FILM/Digital age ..  have tried film/dark room etc .. and saw people "

HOTOSHOP" on negative .. etc .. so I understand, and respect .. and I know how much film is better .. but will I take film again? I doubt it ... and those TRAM MEN can only say "film? on 9 la.. " as they never taste it .. dont know what the "3D"/Air feel mean ..

I am just an old cake .. lol ..

As I dont understand why so many rich guys, they love to collect those vintage cars .. such as mustang from the 60's .. those are not my cup of tea .. as I never like them .. however, I do respect those people too ..

Actually .. even I never like joey that much ..

But today is my dayoff, so as usually, playing snooker and listen to music .. and I found an old mp3 CD from joey ( mp3

) her singing was good wor .... very good voice, (old CD, who comes to love me) and with tube amp, the result was much better then I expected!

Of course, I always listen to hecken and jacky la..

I am not that "fever" .. so I dont hv "choi kum" etc ..

I notice tube amp is good for vocal, and it actually match mp3 not bad .. "smooth" those mechanical voice.

Classical ..better with yuen g lup!

(I am not that into HiFi.. so better let some other "high hand" LYK to cover this .. )

好采我都玩過黑房
個時每一張相，又拍攝到完成，用上不少血汗精神同時間and"金錢"，每一張都嘔心瀝血，係充滿靈魂

吾好似digital甘，不停影，不停影，亂甘影，photoshop photoshop photoshop
但係始終要向現實低頭，舊野都係要用好多錢

I am old cake .. and on 9 as usual la.. but that is what I want ar ma ..

Tube amp isn't that hard to maintain as most people think .. ( thx daimo for teaching me)

U can use tube to play music for hours .. and those tubes can last for a long time.....

( i hvn't set up my normal hi fi in basement yet ... so ... more or less, rely on my tube amp .. and normally, I just use a whatever hi fi to play hecken/joey too ..

)

Oh .. as big sister C said .. back then . ( in the 80's ) with casset ... walkman .. not that great sound .. ( but was good ga la.. ) unless very rich people .. otherwise, hardly afford great hi fi .. unlike nowaday .. $500 can get a not bad system ... and hi end stuffs are crazy expensive .. can easy to spend $200-300K on audiophile .. and the different is so tiny ....

Same as camera .. ar pig ar dog .. can buy a $3xx Sony DSLR .. take thousand of pic .. and some of them will be good .. then PS the pic .. will become a very good picture .. not much different as picture from a $50K D back .....

Well .. those are .. MEN HOBBY!

I am still watching CRT TV wor .. ( too heavy to move!! lol )

TV is a bit different ..  as it is rich colour, sharp .. then ok ..  dont care about the "FEEL" la....

But .. like the new " ball E " movie ..  no CG .. back to mostly hand draw ..
Like it or not ? personal taste la..

Well, we are in the good generation .. I agree with the guy said ..  as a 3X yr old men ..  going though the Film/Digital age .. tape/CD/MP3 etc age ... my brother ?  teenage .. he knows about film, but not darkroom ..... my son in future?  for sure I will tell him about film/VHS etc ..  will he care ?  no way !!

I am sure COME ON will say whatever TV .. as long as it is MADE IN CHINA .. that is the best la....

taste呢嘢真係口買口倍。不過咩都有人收藏﹐古玉﹐名畫﹐手錶﹐鑽石﹐藝術同主觀審美眼光永遠同實際唔掛鉤。

但係要證明我係後生女﹐我死人都話我聽ipod啦。

With the same resolution and disregard the size, CRT beats LCD in terms of display quality, brightness & contrast, viewing angle and color depth.

Fat Gor still play film la, but 8x10 only...haha...each frame is like 5-10 bucks, just film alone!

Hi end or low end is just a matter of taste and preference. People spend 500 bucks on earphones and add a 200 bucks amp for some mp3 player, btw ipod sound are mostly crappy except for a few models, still listen to 320k mp3. Some people are happy with 192k VBR, some don't even know what I'm talking about and just enjoying music.

btw i love love the sound of 胆機 with good speakers. i don't have one but listen to my friend's a few times. the sound is so "warm" and real.
i also like 古玉 but i can't afford any. haha i can't even tell fake from real for sure so i cannot buy a piece for myself.

no, that's not true. in general, it's easier to get better bass (assuming the same cost to build) from solidstate amps due to the fact that they have better damping control. but that's about it.

Your amp will play classicals with glory. Your speakers are efficient and your amp is quite beefy. don't complain. To get better music from solidstate amp, brand new, you need to spend something like 7k US.

I went into a store where they sell 胆機 in HK.. Super expensive..! I am not ready for 胆機 or even high quality Hi-Fi for sure..!

it's not just about 胆機. solidstate can get very expensive as well.

Like everything else - cameras, cars, ... it's just pricey if you are serious.

Indeed, i tried to paly the same song on IPOD with MP3(320kb) , on cd player and on tube amp.

You can gradually hear the "layer's" are getting thicker when you move up the above items. Perhaps I jam in a band that's what i can hear the difference.  but if you use a headphone, it's very hard  to tell.

I tried that with Thriller from Michael Jackson.  With Tube it sounds more warm and more delicate, but it's just annoying to wait for warm up before you can listen.

I am in my mid 20 ja, but i don';t think these are old man stufff.  It's just a matter of whether you would go and look for the best.

Not really ga. To me, cassette tapes sound warmer and more natural because it is analog. It's true that Cd has the perfect digital sound and it would not age in time, but it los tthe quality of depth.

Well, tape sounds really bad when it ages, especially when i repeat the same part way too much. that's when i hate it.
